Attitude

Anyone dealing with attitude a lot ? It’s the constant talking back or arguing with me. Just being plain rude to me. Once I get onto her or take things away, she starts crying and apologizing. How do yall deal with attitude?

Oh I nip that shit immediately. I don’t give chances. Literally none. The minute it happens we drop everything, you’re done BYE off to MY room (the most boring room) you go. I close the door and he has to sit in there for 10 mins and I come back and we talk about expectations and how if it continues right back to the room he goes. Another thing is I make sure he doesn’t go too long without snacks or water. I keep snacks with me and water at all times so after pick up from his activities or classes I make sure he’s fed. That brings the attitude waaaaaay down most days.

I think they learn this from school 😭😵‍💫

Same here! We have 2 six year olds and all they do is fight 24/7 and its getting physical now. Im so exhausted from being a referee and being sassed all day 🥴

My girl is absolutely killing me with the attitude. First it was the "you don't love me!" Stomps away and goes to her room. Then it was "you hate me!" Stomps to her room. Now it's "you don't love me and you treat me like trash!" And cries and stomps to her room.... All because I won't give her popcorn or I make her do her homework or I say she has to go to bed 😒 so over it. I'm probably going to just run away when she hits puberty. Lately she's been saying no and basically going on strike when she really doesn't want to do something she has to so I tell her what she's going to lose if she continues and I stick to it. One thing I noticed that kinda helps is I remind her how much it sucked when she couldn't have her things or couldn't go on the playground after school and she'll reflect and then I warn her if she continues it'll happen again and then I ask if she really wants to continue and she'll usually stop

Well she loses privileges like getting to play on the switch or her tablet. She doesn’t get it all day. Just two hours a day. I’ll take it away for the rest of the day. If she continues I usually take it for the next day. Then she does good and earns it back. I have taken it away for a week before too.

Definitely having this issue 😕 to make it worse I promised myself we wouldn't be a household that yells or anything like that and somehow still the second I try to correct the behavior you'd think I'd just smacked the bejeezus outta her or something with the way she immediately starts frantically crying. I'm like "dang girl, all I said was 'that wasn't nice'"... It makes corrections so hard because she's so sassy and honestly straight up mean sometimes but also so so sensitive. I'm at a loss 😭

DNA Test

My baby’s dad performed a DNA test on him and my baby without my knowledge or consent. My baby wasn’t even a month old at this point. Any advice or thoughts? He’s not on the birth certificate.

How to get baby to nap without feeding?

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.

Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.

Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

Is this normal?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice

How did you get your little ones to use the sofa appropriately?

My daughter is 11months and can get up on the sofa but she jumps around on it like she has 9 lives, which obviously doesn’t really mix with a kid who has no sense of danger. She doesn’t get off safely and i can’t trust her to be on it but she’s desperate to do it since shes figured it out. Shes in a climbing phase anything she can be on she is, shes relentless too

My sons 4 and i can’t remember how i did it with him it’s like he just got it randomly, he still climbed alot but always safely

How did you get your young children to be safer on the sofa or just things in general?

Cold and flu

How do people deal with colds and flu when you are breastfeeding and can't take cold and flu tablets? I had my flu jab yesterday but they said that it takes 2 weeks to work. My husband has a nasty cold and is taking cold and flu tablets, I can feel myself starting to get it but I checked with the doctor today and they said that I cant take the tablets due to breastfeeding as there is a decongestant ingredient which impacts the milk. How do people manage to care for their baby while fighting sickness and trying to avoid passing it on to them?
