Dinner.

My son has been stressing me out when it comes to dinner. He eats breakfast really well lunch his good too mostly he’s at daycare for lunch and afternoon snack but dinner no matter what I make he just doesn’t eat it. I try cooking early and skipping snack when we gets home so he’s hungry. I try giving him choices, I try having him help my cook. Some nights it’s hit or miss the last 5 nights it’s been huge misses. I even went a day with no snack. Just his meals still don’t eat. I try all of us eating at table together, I change when I eat dinner since I use to eat after bed time. I tried sharing food with him nothing seem to be working. He always been on the skinny and I just don’t want him to far behind in percentile again.

I think it’s normal, my son is very similar, always on the go and has been on the smaller/slimmer side. Dinners are the tougher meal for us too. I try to look at it as long as he’s getting 1-2 good meals and snacks throughout the day he’s probably fine. I try to add extra fats like avocado, coconut milk, oil/butter to his food to make sure he’s getting calories and trust that he’ll eat if he’s hungry.

I was told we feed them breakfast lunch and dinner plus snacks, not because they will eat, but it gives them a chance to eat. My son grazes more than anything and usually one to two good meals a day.

He could be a grazer instead of big meals he prefers snacks. See if he’ll eat some “meal foods” for snacks like cut up pieces of chicken or turkey and just have them on a plate so he’s getting in protein and other items to get other nutrients in. My daughter is similar so I do cook dinner but usually earlier and I cut it up and let her graze on it over the course of an hour or so

Toddler sucking thumb

Pleaseeee be honest because I’ve heard so many contradictions, does sucking thumb mess up toddlers teeth in future? If yes, how do I stop him doing it!?

Am I wrong?

My husband the past 2 days has come home from work after being gone all day and as soon as he comes in the door says he’s going upstairs to work on his leg that has been tight and aching. And left me to get the kids dinner, and do their whole bed time routine alone because it’s taken that long for him to do his stuff. When I had a problem with it he acted like I’m the bad guy because “he’s been gone all day and not had a minute to himself”. Am I wrong for being upset???

Feeling pretty down tonight

I am 36 and about to have my 3rd baby. The father and I didn't work out. I'm feeling pretty down about that tonight & idk how to lift myself up from it. I am almost 40 and have never had anyone actually choose me and love me and at this point I dont think I will ever feel that. Each of my kids have different fathers, the first isnt involved at all, the second is sporadically involved, and the third hasn't been there for me throughout this entire pregnancy. He's been around sure, but its only for the baby. He never actually chose to care about me. I'm just tired. Tired of always being dismissed or walked away from. Tired of having to spend this life fighting and surviving. Tired of not having anyone to turn to for support. I have no friends and hardly any family. I just feel so alone. & idk who is going to want me after having three children with three different fathers, plus having a newborn at 36 years old. . I just want it to end already.

Feeling deflated

For context I am a fully qualified early years teacher and I am more than competent in teaching and looking after my daughter.
We recently got a confirmation that our daughter can start nursery in 2028. (She will be 2) however I’ve realised I’m not comfortable with this (history of working in nursery’s and knowing what happens behind the scenes) and also I can simply do it all myself and I am happy to.
My husband tells me that he wants her to start nursery then and not stay home and let me care for her because she needs to go to nursery. I don’t understand why he would rather send her to be cared for by random people when I’m a stay at home mum and qualified to do it myself.
I also don’t really see how he gets much of a say in it (outside of just a general opinion) as it doesn’t affect him at all whether she is home with me or at nursery as I’ll be doing it all anyway? And he will be saving money if she doesn’t go…

Parents who have not sent their child to nursery can you comment experiences.

First birthday

Has anyone started thinking about what they’re doing for their little ones first birthday? We were going to do a party but because I’ll have only just gone back to work we just can’t really afford it. Obviously we want to do something special. We live in Staffordshire if anyone has any ideas!
