Hi all
I have a toddler (3.5 yrs) and newborn (10 wks).
My toddler has always been a horrible sleeper. It took 3 yrs to be able to get her to sleep in her own bed/room and she still ends up in our bed almost every night.
My biggest issue is that it takes anywhere up to 3 hrs straight to get her to finally sleep every.single.night. the most it has taken before is 5 hours and i almost checked myself into a mental hospital after it.
This shit is DRAINING and i find it extremely hard to self regulate when ive literally been in tears begging her to just close her fkn eyes for hours. Not to mention the guilt i feel every night for always threatening, bribing, and yelling.
Now that i have a newborn it is even worse because my babys witching hour has been starting at the same time as my toddlers usual "start the bedtime process" is and she cant be calmed unless shes on my boob yet my toddler wont sleep unless im with her too.
What do i do?
My husband and MIL try to help and weve adjusted bedtimes etc and tried everything over the last couple of years.
I spend every single night so stressed, zero time for myself, wracked with guilt but regretting having kids.

I had the same sort of thing with my now 5yr old (she was 3yrs exactly when my daughter was born). She was used to sleeping in bed with me, for months before baby came I tried many things, putting her in a room with her brother, getting her to sleep with her dad.. but nothing worked, she would just wake during the night and cry for me waking everyone up. Once the baby was born, I kept her in my bed and baby was In bassinet until out grew and then I had the both them in my bed and I was getting kicked out every night. I tried multiple times for her to sleep with her dad and it would end in tears and yelling cause I was so tired. I decided to get a single bed and just put it in my room next to my bed and it worked wonders. She’s happy to have her own bed but still close to me, and I’m happy cause it gives me space lol. Im currently pregnant with #4 so I’m now worried what I’m going to do once Bub gets here now #3 sleeps in my bed 🤪

I think doing what everyone is happy with for the time being is easiest…. They don’t stay this small forever and won’t want to share forever either 🫶

UM HELLO this is my whole life!!! I also have a 3.5 year old who hates sleeping and am pregnant with #2. It's gotten so bad I tried to get her in to see a sleep specialist but they denied her because "she doesn't snore". I am at my wits end. It's literally destroying our family. I barely speak to my husband anymore because we're constantly fighting her to sleep or we're too drained to think.
I would bring it up with your pediatrician often and immediately. If they have a record on file of the issue you're more likely to be seen.
I know everyone has big opinions on it but we've been giving my daughter melatonin and it's the only thing that helps her sleep. Turned our 2 hour bedtime routine into 40 minutes max. I buy one that's .5 mg mixed with like 10mg of magnesium.
Literally do whatever you need to do and don't take judgement from anyone. Sleep deprivation caused by a toddler is another world of psychological torture. Seriously message me whenever you want. I can't believe I didn't write this post myself

Oh no, I'm in a similar boat. 3 year old sleeps with dad, and 4 month old sleeps with me. Dad is going away for a work trip for a week - tomorrow, and I'm trying to strategise his I'm going to get my toddler down, and my baby down with feeding. My toddler so so noisy at night, he talks and sings, jumps and rolls for hours in bed...it's actually really cute and I enjoy deep discussions with him when I can at night, but with out dad around, im not sure how I'm going to do it :/
I’m a FTM looking for some advice please.
I’ve just started putting my 9 week old in her sleeping bag at night the temperature when we go to bed is around 20/21 degrees I have been putting her in a 1 tog sleeping bag with her sleepsuit per the guide on the sleep bag. The temperature is dropping to about 16/17 degrees throughout the night making it colder.
Would you continue to put her in the 1 tog or would you put her in a warmer tog when she’s going to bed knowing the temperature is going to drop? I am worried about overheating her. TIA xx

I breastfed for 18 months and it was more because I knew it was good for baby and then when we got into it, it was for convenience and ease. But I also felt that it took things away like baby being able to spend long periods of time with family (he wouldn’t take a bottle), and also I had a lack of freedom lol.
I’d do it again and don’t regret it but I never got the “I love breastfeeding, I love the closeness, it’s magical” kinda feeling that I read people talking about.

Help?!!!! My 18 month old from the day he was born has been absolute hell past 4pm. No matter how much sleep he has he whinges and cries at EVERY thing, all evening. My partner is really stressed out with it, as we thought by now he might have grown out of it. He’s sleeps 7:30pm- 6am, and 11:30-1:30 day nap. Eats WELL, that is what he actually mostly whinges at now… Always screaming at the kitchen cupboards. I don’t know what to do😩 is this happening to anyone else

When did you start using tampons after birth?
I’m 6 weeks post c-section today and started my first period. I absoloutely hate pads with a passion I’m so fed up of them I just want to start using tampons again but information online is misleading.

Did anyone find that when they got their period their milk supply got less? Think my first period is starting and noticed I'm finding I'm pumping less and less milk at the moment and wonder if they're connected.
