So how would you give a sausage to a 7 month old? Solid starts says this but for example we have sausage and roasted veg quite a bit in our house as an easy dinner (fresh veg as well which is mainly what our baby has) but I like him to be able to do it himself - so am I being right that the only way you can give sausage is crumbled???
I swear my daughter was munching on whole sausages but I could be way ahead of myself here!!

Crumbled is what id do tbh, sausage is such a tough one as it is!

Crumbled. My babes only had 2 teeth or so then…. so nothing solid. At that age their diet is 90% milk and solids for fine motor skills and to help the digestive track prepare. And keep in mind they dont have their back teeth to help break things down and will basically bite or suck and swallow.

I never crumbled. I just have in sticks but removed the skin as that’s the tough part 🥰 every baby is different, and I think if you are supervising and feel comfortable go with what you feel best x

I swear that’s what I did for my daughter, I don’t remember crumbling. I also supervise when eating too.
Thanks everyone x

Cut into quarters lengthways. Solid starts is wrong with a lot of foods. I use weaning the BLW way group on fb

thanks, do you remove the skin before?
That’s what I keep thinking when I see stuff on there!!

I quarter without skinning, but we've been giving her chicken sausages that don't have a thick one

ooo didn’t think of those. I’ve never eaten them myself. Maybe we will try them next thank you x

I quarter it lengthwise. I've never crumbled it
