My baby just turned 16 months and had about 7 words he was using, but suddenly stopped saying them. He still babbles a lot, but when I ask him to say words he used to know, it comes out as mixed sounds instead.
He’s also not walking yet, but cruises, on his walker, stands on his own, and has great balance, just won’t take steps.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it a normal phase or something to be concerned about?

I think some kids just wait until they’re super sterdy and confident. He’ll probably walk freely soon. Maybe you can put like two chairs close to each other and put a snack or toy on one. And then increase the gap everytime he achieves it. Just as an idea to support him.
Language wise I think it’s totally normal. We’ve been going through this with a bunch of words already. I think they’re just bored of what they know and use their energy to develop new skills or find new words. They’re not forgotten and they do come back. Maybe even more accurate. So unless you notice other “symptoms” I think it sounds like he’s developing totally normal.
