Sorry for the long post..
My boyfriends mum keeps making comments to him about how I’m being ‘controlling’ because I haven’t allowed her to have my 8mo at her house. In his whole life, she has met him 3 times for about an hour at a time (one of these was at my SIL’s wedding, so was not her making an effort to see him, he was just there with me), and not to mention the fact that her kids ended up in state care when they were younger as she was seen as unfit to take care of them. So, my baby does not know her at all due to her own lack of effort, and I would see it as unfair on him to leave him with her. She also has health problems which mean she is not very mobile. How can she expect to look after my baby?
Bare in mind, she has never actually directly asked to have my baby, but keeps making digs about how much my parents see him - they have been my major support system, as
my boyfriend and I have been having a tough time with our relationship since pregnancy and we don’t live together. We are working on things but he has also not been the most present father. She also makes comments when she does see him like ‘I can’t wait till I can babysit’ and ‘don’t forget he has 2 nans’.
She’s a very bitter and possessive woman - every time I post a picture of/with my baby she messages me saying ‘he is my grandson’, liiiike okay??? My boyfriend does not use social media much so hence has not posted many pictures of/with my son, and she also makes a lot of comments about this, such as ‘why do you have so many pictures with him and my son doesn’t’. It’s so strange, am I not allowed to post pictures of my child now!?
AITA for not feeling comfortable with her looking after him, if she does ask? And how should I approach this?

I think you're completely on the right.
So many red flags coming through in what you've said about your MIL.
Not least about her own children ending up in care.

Say he's currently very hands on and just not ready to be watched by anyone that's not a primary caregiver. Honestly no one babysat my first till she was 2.
