PGP & vaginal birth

I have had really bad pelvic girdle pain and sacroiliac joint dysfunction since I've been 4 months pregnant. I am now on constant painkillers and can only walk with crutches. Does anyone have experience with something like this and had a vaginal birth? I did not experience anything like this with my first baby, and now I am so worried about not being able to move as I need to during birth. So I am considering an elective csection, even though the consultant did not recommend it, given I already had a vaginal birth before. Any experience sharing would be v much appreciated 🙏 (and don't hesitate to message me privately). Thanks!

I had really bad PGP in my first pregnancy that sounds very similar to yours, I was given an induction at 39 weeks so that it didn’t get any worse and I could give birth vaginally and with no pain relief at my request, tbh it was a good decision for me and I managed to stand for most of my labour but had to lay down to push as the added pressure on my hips and pelvis created a very sharp pain that was buckling my knees
Overall good experience
I didn’t think of C-section being an option honestly!

Had it both pregnancies and was on crutches during my second, was induced both times and gave birth in a water birth both times. C-section was never considered and was only ever a last resort emergency to me. There only concern was being able to get in and out of the pool in an emergency which I could but I didn’t need too :)

Had it with first pregnancy, was on crutches for 7 weeks before giving birth. Induced at 42 weeks. Managed a vaginal birth but with epidural, I wasn’t allowed the water birth as I wouldn’t have been able to get out quick enough but I don’t think it was a terrible experience, the pgp was kind of forgotten about when the contractions started 🤣 but I did not get off the bed much either. Did I cause my emergency c section?

Hey.
My wee one is now 11 weeks old and I feel I have recovered well from my c section but I cant seem to shake this guilt that I have.
I was induced due to high blood pressure and the start of pre eclampsia. I was against an induction and would have preferred a planned c section but the Drs convinced me to go ahead with the balloon induction. As soon as it was inserted I was in a lot of pain (especially in my back) but it was to be kept in 24 hours. Once removed I was only 1cm dilated and they broke my waters. They wanted to put me on the hormone drip and I refused as I wanted to see if contractions came on without it and they did. 4 hours later, I was contracting every 3 minutes and had the epidural but the contractions continued intensifying and my baby's heart rate was dropping dramatically, which is why I was rushed away for an emergency c section. Im wondering if I'd had the hormone drip, would the outcome be different? Would I have dilated faster and been able to have a vaginal birth? I don't know if I made the right decision not having the hormone drip. Anyone else's experience similar to mine?

ARFID: what do you say when you don’t want to eat something being offered to you?

So I see posts on here sometimes about how it’s rude to deny food or ask for something different and if you get hungry enough you’ll eat etc. and obviously I know they’re speaking in a more general sense but I’m wondering if you have ARFID and you don’t eat a food being offered to you do you admit that or just say you’re full (assuming you know this person but not well enough that they already know about your aversions etc.) do you bring your own food in? Sometimes I will leave something I can eat or snack on in the car so I can eat on the way home. I just always say I’m not hungry but people catch on eventually .. I’m rambling now lol

So non arfid people: what do you want people to say/ do in this kind of scenario?

Self referral - Badger Notes

I recently found out I’m expecting my second so did a self referral in order to have a midwife and sort out the booking appointment. I made the referral on the 3rd April so taking out the days for Easter, it has now been 8 working days since making it.

How quickly or slowly did you guys get the first contact from the midwife team?

This is completely different from when I had my first as I just phoned up and got a call back from them within 24 hours.

Having to go incognito as no one knows I’m pregnant yet.

How are you getting scans so early?

I’m 6 weeks pregnant today and don’t have my first NHS booking appointment until 8 weeks, with the first scan scheduled for 11 weeks.

I love reading posts in this group, but I’ve noticed some mums are getting scans from as early as 7 weeks (sometimes even earlier!).

It would be really helpful to have more information about these early scans (if you are comfortable sharing!) to help those of us who feel anxious and would like reassurance before the NHS-recommended timings.
