For those who have an awful sleeper…

How many goods nights of sleep on average does your toddler or baby give you?

Please only answer if you would class your baby as being an awful sleeper. Including, frequent wake ups, long re-settling times, taking ages to go to sleep/sleep refusal, low sleep needs (sleeps significantly less than recommended for their age).

My baby has always been a bad sleeper and I would say that I only get 1-2 good nights a week (if lucky). I have already had to resettle him twice since he went to bed at 7:30 😭

My 7 month old daughter wakes for resettling every 20 mins until I get in bed with her (we cosleep) she will always wake atleast once, happy and wanting to play for 1.5-3 hours. I’d say I get about 4 hours sleep a night which isn’t even a lot of deep sleep as I’m always on alert having her in bed with me. I don’t know what you class as a good night. She will only go to bed easily if I keep her awake for atleast 3.5 hours before bed otherwise she will just lay awake screeching, rolling around, shouting and generally being a happy little menace. It’s a lot. I have to be so strict with her naps in the day else she is even worse than that

Oh, my ass is so tired I assumed this was a 'how many wakes' poll without reading properly and now can't change my answer. One of those 3s is a 0.

1-2… in 21 months 😂

It's honestly so all over the place. We could have a good run of 4 nights, then 7 nights of a minimum of 5 wake ups each night 😴

by good night i mean 1-3 hours sleep uninterrupted sleep instead of broken 20 min bloody intervals 😭😭

My son is definitely a bad sleeper. We can go weeks of horrific, more than awful sleep, then get 5 nights on the bounce of better sleep, then back to horrific again. My standard of good sleep is still someone else’s awful tho 😂🥴There’s zero consistency.

I’m not even sure what is classified as good nights sleep anymore 🥴 my standards have become VERY low

My child was a very wakeful baby, but they do eventually sleep! I would say since age 3 (he’s now 5) he has more consistently slept through, or will wake once for a cuddle or a wee 😇

It’s all a season and gets progressively easier! But I remember how hard it is in the thick of it 💚 I’ll be right back with you soon as number 2 is due any day now - who knows though, maybe they’ll be a sleeper? 🤪

Why does no one use reins for toddlers anymore?

They seem so safe and practical but I never see anyone using them. I’m thinking of getting some for my toddler who is always running around but I worry I’ll be judged?!

Is your child the priority?

I saw a post where the mother complained how people don’t understand how hard it is to go outside and have a meal with others etc because her toddler has a routine. She would have to pack food, toys, nappies etc and try to figure out nap time whilst outside so staying home is much easier. We all know what it’s like when your child misses their nap and then nighttime becomes a nightmare. Everything is out of routine. It affects the toddler. I’m assuming that mums who are always out and about all day long, have a toddler who goes with the flow and nap anywhere, eats anything and isn’t overstimulated? Personally mine seems to have a hard time in new places and new faces and enjoys her routine and comfort at home. For me, she is the priority but other mothers are saying that it’s wrong and the child should work around them, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to do anything. In my head, I’ve just accepted that until she goes to school, I’m going to be in mummy mode 24/7 for the next few years. I don’t see myself enjoying being outside if my girl is upset and tired. How do you do it?

Baby carrier

Can anyone recommend a good baby carrier suitable for 5 weeks+ to last as long as possible? I’ve currently got a fabric wrap but find it a hassle to put on!

Is co-sleeping safe?

My baby won’t sleep in the crib at night. Within the first 5 minutes of being put down she will cry and i can’t do the sleep deprivation anymore.. as soon as she is in the bed next to me she settles! 😭is it safe for her to be in the bed with me? i’ve heard of safe sleep 7 and i know co sleeping is normalised in certain areas of the world so surely it can’t be that dangerous? idk help pls

8 week injections

Hiya! My little one had her injections today and she’s slept most of the day since 🥲 when she wakes for feeds, she’s only taking like an ounce at a time then falling back to sleep! Has anyone else’s baby done this too? I was told she may feed less but worried she’s not having enough as she usually has 4oz every 3 hours x

Stuck in contact naps

My baby is 6 months old next week and we're yet to achieve a cot nap over 15 minutes, but will happily contact nap for up to 90. We've tried all the usual stuff so I am here looking for any rogue ways you've managed to get your little one to swap from contact naps to cot ones 🫶🏼
