Hello I’m 18 weeks pregnant. Went into triage for reduced movement and they couldn’t find baby’s heartbeat. Did a scan and baby was fine, sitting comfortably and heartbeat nice and strong.
But my mind is racing as to why the Doppler never picked it up?!

It might just be where baby was, they might not have been able to pick it up with the Doppler compared to the scan, I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about x

My little one’s hb was difficult to find at times. At 20w he could still hide and sometimes it was difficult to find him but no concerns were raised. I’m now 33 and he still going stronger as ever ❤️I would say that as long as your clinicians don’t raise a concern you should not be concerned at all. They are still relatively tiny at this gestational age

I think general guidance is not to do Doppler until 20 weeks as heart rate can be difficult to pick up for baby before this I had a previous loss so had private transvaginal scan where they could pick heart rate up though if it's something you are really set on hearing xx

Seconded that it’s nothing to worry about! I had that at an appointment too and it was because of how the baby was positioned inside.

I don't think be anything for you to worry about though 🫶positioning etc definitely at this stage and scan being good is a great sign xx
