Hi all, I had a growth scan today and was told baby boy was in the high end of normal percentile for 36 weeks coming in at 7lbs7 already. It's freaked me out a bit although they are saying its just means he's a healthy size baby.
Just looking for people who have had similar experiences how was your outcome if you wouldn't mind sharing?
Thanks 😊

My first boy was told he was 7lb 12 at 36 weeks he was born at 37 weeks 6lb 4. My second boy was told he was 7lb 10 at 39 weeks and he was born 2 days later at exactly 7lb 10 so spot on with one miles of with the other😂

Hey
Big boy mumma here
I didn’t show till I was 3 months away and I BLEW up. Turned out I had late GD so had to go on a diet for 3 weeks till I was induced at 39 😂 I can’t remember what he measured on the scans but I’m 5’3, around 9 stone and he came out at 8lb 11oz.
I did have to have an emergency c section and that was because his shoulder got stuck and it turned out my pelvis was too small for him. He did have jaundice till day 14 but he’s the most happy, healthy, perfect baby ever. He went to the paediatric unit last month (just for a check over as he had a glaring episode) but she deliberately said: I’m big baby bias 😂
They do say though, that the scans can be way off, my friend said her baby was measured big and she came out around 6lb 7oz (somewhere around there)
Every single midwife / doctor I spoke too says it’s because my partner is big. He’s around 6’2 but slim build, but all the lads in my family and his are all tall boi’s.

At 36 weeks, they said my baby was 8lb and then at 39 weeks they said 9lb, I’m probably the anomaly in that they actually underestimated her weight because she was born at 40 weeks and 10lb on the dot but there were no issues! Either way, take what they say with a pinch of salt. Nothing wrong with a big healthy baby though ☺️

My kids were all large. My boys were born at 38 weeks weighing 9lb6.5 and 9lb5. My daughter was born at 35+5 and was 9lb7. She was scanned 2 days before estimtating 9lb7

My baby was estimated 7lbs9oz at 36 weeks and I was induced early at 38 weeks. He was born at 9lbs 3oz.

99th percentile all the way through and was born 10lbs2oz by caesarian cos no way was I pushing that out!

I was told at 28 weeks he was around 3 1/2lb and at 32 weeks was over 6lb so they asked about gestational diabetes which I had tested negative for twice as he had doubled in 4 weeks. He was born at 39+1 and was 6lb 12oz so measurements in my opinion are not always accurate

I was given 3 extra monitoring scans because my son measured so big on his first scan. He measured consistently big throughout my pregnancy and I had an elective C section at 39 weeks. He's a big baby at 4 months and although my back and wrists hurt I love how chunky he is and I'm grateful I don't have to worry about his weight.
