I exclusively breastfeed my 5 week old and for the past week in the evening feeds especially after a bath and before bed when sge is feeding she will latch on perfectly and feed for abit and the pull away completely and bop her head back and forth even when I help her relatch and it’s there for her, she also cries whilst its in her mouth I know she is hungry as she shows signs she is but when I try feeding she cries with it in her mouth so won’t latch and suck to feed, anyone else’s little ones doing this? What could It be? What can I do to help x

Try burping her or doing bicycle legs when she does this, it sounds quite normal but could be trapped wind and they often seek boob as comfort and then get frustrated because it isn’t helping x

Ah that’s tough. I found when my baby does this it’s often due to discomfort and tension in her body, usually from gas. She’s trying to eat but can’t focus because she needs help dealing with it. Often addressing the gas makes a huge difference. It’s tough to help sometimes though when they are already distressed from being hungry. I hope you find something that helps!
