Am i being dramatic?
My mother is obsessed with my 11 week old boy, understandably as he is the first grandchild.
She does however get regular coldsores, so i have asked her nicely not to kiss my baby’s face or hands (as he puts them in his mouth).
She keeps ignoring me, my brother calls her out and tells her not to when i have my back turned and it drives me crazy. When i call her out, she reacts by telling me i don’t clean my hands enough when handling my baby anyway.
How do i get through to her, it’s driving me crazy that she doesn’t respect my boundaries and it ends in an explosive argument where she tells me not to bother visiting. As if I don’t want to see the rest of my family.
Am i being dramatic, is it still a risk at almost 3 months old?

IT IS ALWAYS A RISK YOU ARE NOT OVERREACTING AND IT WHAT WAS MY BABY ID BE IN FUCKING JAIL!!!!! STOP LETTING HER KISS YOUR BABY HE HAS NO IMMUNE SYSTEM SHE CAN KILL HIM!!!! KILL!!! AS IN DEAD!!!!! STOP THAT SHIT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't kiss my child. My son is 15m old and I don't like people kissing him.
If you're uncomfortable with it speak up. Explain if boundaries are going to be ignored she will lose access

We have the same rule and I think it is reasonable even at 3 months old. We are enforcing until our baby has most of her vaccines done. You cant control how your mom responds to your boundary, only how you enforce it. What works for me is not engaging in the arguments and saying it is not up for debate or opinions. We've enforced by removing baby or giving the option of wearing a mask if they cant help themselves while handling the baby
Thank you! Looks like access will be removed

Absolutely not overreacting!

You are not overreacting at all. I'd go absolutely mental. If she didn't respect my boundaries and my rules with my child she wouldn't be seeing him, simple as that. Someone kissed my great niece as a baby, she nearly died because of it. My son is 7 months and I still won't let anyone other than me and my husband kiss him
