A little back story….. so I’m hitting 28 weeks. I been dealing with headaches, back pain, and just feeling extremely tired. I’m drained at this point, regardless if I go to bed early or not. This is all ‘normal’ according to my doctor. I was told to start wearing a back brace & take magnesium. I’m working 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts, and commuting a little over 2 hours a day. I also mentioned this to my doctor because I’d hate to go into labor while at work or during my commute. Apparently, she’s not concerned about me not being able to reach a hospital in time if this happens. Not to add that I recently failed my glucose test & have to go in for the 3 hour sometime soon. So in a nutshell, I’m over it. I’m with Kaiser & have already spoken with my OB & another OB. They’re not going to take me off until 36 weeks due to their ‘policies’ & all the fraud that goes on. I’m dreading waiting that long. What did you say or do to help you get leave sooner? I’m tiiiiiired.

I don’t have Kaiser, but I was able to be put on medical leave at 33 weeks. I work with children, and I have to lift up and carry toddlers for diaper changes and once I got big it started causing me lots of pelvic pressure. Also being on my feet for 8+ hours a day gave me swollen feet, and also bad carpal tunnel. I told my doc all of my symptoms and plus I was seeing a specialist for my pregnancy so they just put me on medical leave. Hopefully you can talk some reason with your docs.

i’m 32 weeks and i want to leave work already too!!! It’s honestly a crime that they make pregnant women work up until 36 weeks. A man could nevaaa
Since i failed my 3hr glucose. I want to tell them i have swollen legs, it’s a symptom of preeclampsia, they have to send you on leave once you tell them that. My fear is that they will put me on insulin. Even if i’m gestational i’m not taking insulin. I’m already having a hard time pricking my finger 4x a day, let alone insulin injections.
Honestly thinking i’m just going to tough it out until 36, because i want longer time with my baby before i have to go back to work.
