it's always fun to involve them with food. maybe they'll want to lick or taste a little flavor of something you're eating, Let them! I recommend kind of taking their lead. Some infants are ready to jump in at 4 months, and some take as long as 3 to 5 months just to learn how to swallow! if your family doesn't have a history of food allergies then I recommend mashing up a little bit of avocado with a banana and trying that first. It has a little bit thicker consistency and it will go in and out of their mouth at first for sure! If there is a history of food allergies then just start with the banana for 3 to 5 days, then move on to another fruit or veggie one at a time. The act of masticating is actually the opposite of what we first learned which is to suck. So needless to say it feels normal for us now but is a whole process each baby goes through a bit differently! I love your idea of bone marrow but I would do at least a month or two of fruits and veggies first before doing animals ;)

I'm just not a big fan of baby cereal. I find that it can kind of constipate them. I know it's simple but it's kind of a processed food so that's why I recommend getting a nice ripe not excessively ripe but definitely ripe banana and mashing a little bit of it because not only is it delicious. it's also good for them. It's totally normal for them to stick the food in and out of their mouths at first, because they don't know how to swallow. That being said, you should definitely have his tongue reflex checked by a professional, just letting you know that even babies that don't have any issues with their tongue reflexes do that as well.

I started with bananas
