Hello all, just wondering if anyone knows. I'm a stay at home mum for my little one due to the extortionate childcare fees and not finding a job that would cover even half a day. If I got pregnant with a second child, would I still get the government maternity pay? Or because I'm not in a job, would I not get anything? Whilst I'm not pregnant now, I'm just stressing about the future because we do want more children...

You wouldn't get maternity pay as thats paid from your employer.
You may be entitled to maternity allowance.
You do get 30 hours free childcare so could you consider that and go back to work for 30 hours?? X

For maternity allowance you would need to have worked in a certain period before you fell pregnant. I'm in a similar situation and I know I won't be getting anything in the future as I stay at home.

If maternity allowance does not work, apply for benefits such as universal credit they’ll support with income and housing also, but besides that best people to get advice from is citizens advice beruea xx
