My 2 year 4 month old goes to nursery 3 and a half days a week. On handover we are told 80% of the time that he was “very emotional today” or “he’s very sensitive”. And it’s really starting to get to me as this has been months.
I’m not sure what I’m supposed to say on handover.. I’m aware that my son has tantrums/gets upset.. usually when poorly which when going to nursery seems to be all the time! But he’s generally a very happy little boy!
I’m just at a loss.. am I doing the right thing by sending him to nursery if he’s really upset as they say? Surely as trained staff they are equipped to deal with “sensitive” children. It just makes me dread pick up as there always seems to be some comment

Maybe you can ask to speak to his key worker and try and understand a little bit more about what they actually mean by that. Does it mean he cries a lot? Does it mean he has tantrums? Does it mean he gets upset with other kids? What does that even mean in tangible terms lol and ask if there is anything you should be doing based on this information. Make it clear you're not being difficult just want to make sure your LO is ok and you and the nursery are working together to support him.
