Should I go to ER?

I’m about to be 3 months PP I got my period last night and today I’ve been having to change my pad every 2 hours cus I’m bleeding like crazy. I feel super weak, my legs feel heavy, I ate and I still feel lightheaded. I also had 3 blood transfusions after my emergency c section bc I lost too much. Idk if that relevant but
Should I go to ER if this continues till night? Everybody keeps telling me that it’s normal to have heavy period after birth and I’ve had my period after I gave birth so this is my second time getting it and it wasn’t this heavy like I’ve been constantly gushing…sorry for tmi

I would no matter what just to be safe

I’d go get checked out just to make sure nothing more serious is going on then just your period, better to be safe

Better to be safe then sorry. If you feel something isn’t right always listen to your body. No harm in going

I’ve been on 4 days now, 5 months post c section and I’ve been super heavy too and going though pads every 2 hours (nights pads even thought the day) I’m on day 4 now and it’s slowed down loads. Just keep going hot and cold and very tired. I got intouch with my GP and they said it’s not urgent so they are seeing me on the 12 of may

i was the exact same if not worst. got my first period after birth it was completely fine then had another 2 weeks later and bleeding through a super+ tampon within 2 hrs. was like that for 3 days. i’d suggest getting it checked. (i just assumed it was my proper “after birth” period so i didn’t get it checked)

I would go just bc of what you went through but when I got my period for the first time after birth I went through an entire box of ultra tampons.

Heavy bleeding is normal but that frequently I would get it checked. Make sure to let them know your pp and how often your changing it.

C section care

Hi all,

I just had an unexpected c section. So haf no chance to prepare.

What’s the best care? When should I start sensitivity massage?

What creams are best? And which belt did you use?

Boy name opinions!

We really love the name Odin for a boy but my family are super against it because it’s the name of a Viking God. What’s your opinion?!

Positive induction stories

Hey ladies, came to triage at 39+5 for reduced movements and they’ve said the default is to now recommend induction (baby fine movement is now ok). Not yet decided what to do but need some positive induction stories to ease my mind if anyone has any xx

Shortness of breath and heart rate when lying down

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can give me advice - since 22 weeks (I am now 23) I’m really struggling to sleep and find when I lie down I feel a shortness of breathe and can physically feel my heart pounding, even when on my left hand side.

It eases up a little once I remove the elevation from my head but still doesn’t feel super comfortable.

I’m going to see the midwife as soon as I can after bank holiday, but has anyone experienced this?

Thank you!

So frustrated

So my newborn almost definitely has oral thrush. I had initially thought it was just milk tongue but when he yawned earlier I can see its also on his throat. I phoned the maternity triage number but the automated message said if its an urgent issue press two (which to me, oral thrush isn't?) and for non urgent enquiries contact your GP (its Saturday??) So I went to the pharmacy but they cant treat babies younger than 3 months for thrush. So i phoned back triage and just pressed 2 anyway. But they cant help with issues relating to baby, only me. They said i have to call NHS24. But I really, really dont want to do that because I know they'll send me to the hospital and thats the last place I want an 8 day old baby unless absolutely necessary.
I get the midwife in tomorrow but my boobs are already starting to hurt so I dread to think what they'll be like by then 😭😭
Anyone else just completely frustrated and at a loss by the lack of support for parents of newborns? 🫠🫠
