To be a SAHM or not to be? Your experience needed!
My Husband and I talked in depth about me returning to work and originally agreed for me to go down to part time, and fully remote. It's been very busy, yet do-able in my books. Kinda like hustling to get the best of both worlds ya know?
On the weekend my Husband asked me if I was still open to be a SAHM. I don't have an immediate answer for him and asked him to give me till the end of the month. Obviously yes being with my Son all day is a dream and has so many benefits for his development. I'm also being greedy and thinking of my career. I would have to put my license on suspension, and it can only be on suspension for max 4 years and then I would lose it. The tricky part is my Husband was honest about our finances and that even with me working PT we can't afford daycare, and he's hoping I might consider being a SAHM till the LO goes to Kindergarten at age 5. However with my license I would either need to work for a year now, or later, to not lose it 😅 (we will be discussing this more in depth!).
Currently while I work (3hrs daily), my Husband is juggling both work and our LO. With the nature of my job I can't have him with me during work hours even at home. When I'm not working I'm full time mom mode!
To further complicate things we haven't decided if we want to try for a second two years from now due to multiple previous miscarriages and also postpartum infection/complications on my end.
*Update #1 - If I complete the yearly CEs and pay the yearly renewal fee I can keep my license even if I'm not working!
What is your personal experience with either being a SAHM, or a working mom? Pros/cons?
