hiya all!! i’ve not long moved to a new area and am having to go through all the re blood testing and went without seeing a midwife for 10+ weeks!! im currently nearly 32w and i had a phone call from my midwife the other day, im unable to meet her until after the 26th may😔
i obviously haven’t come up with a birth plan yet as i assumed my midwife would help me with that but i am a little worried. i’m worrried as my EDD keeps changing from the 5th July to 19th June and no one knows which ones right, the dates are creeping closer and closer and panic mode is setting in.
my question is, do i draft a birth plan by myself? i’m a FTM so have no idea what im doing😅😅 TIA xx

Yes, I think it is a good idea to read up around birth and know what your options are and have an idea of what you would like in an ideal situation. I’d really recommend the book, the positive birth book by Millie Hill. It has loads of information on your birth and has draft birth plans that you can look at as well.

Im also a FTM and stressed aboutbit alot. In the end I drafted a very simple plan. Covering what pain relief I wanted, whether we wanted baby to have vitamin K, where I wanted to give birth (midwife led unit) and what I wanted access too. Birth ball, pool and the ability to move.
When it came down to it, I had a 3 minute conversation with my midwife when I was in labour. My husband had a copy on his phone so he could explain what I wanted if I wasn't able to.

Have you looked up local classes as they helped me massively and have friedns from there which we are still seeing xx
But yes i would do some research and draft birth plan yourself xx

I've never once been asked if I have a birth plan 😅 was only asked once I got to the hospital what I'd like for pain relief

My birth plans were done with a midwife at 36 weeks both times, I already had an idea of what I wanted going into that appointment but obviously be prepared that it is a plan and doesn’t mean it will necessarily happen to a T as anything can happen!
