Early rising and frequent wakes

My baby never been a good sleeper and I’m okay with that. 10 months old and he goes in his bed to start and will always end up with us.

However, the last 4 or 5 nights, he is waking after an hour, every hour and getting into our bed earlier because he then won’t settle. THEN he’s up at 5.30.

We used to put him to get at 7 and get till at least 11/12 before the first wake. Sometimes we could get him back off in his own cot, sometimes he’d come in with us but never before 11. The early wakes started and I was advised to push bedtime back to 7.30, it worked for a bit but then back to 5.30.

Now, down at 7.30, up at 9 then 10 and definitely in our bed at this point as won’t resettle. 1 or 2 more wake ups than normal and then up at 5.30 ????

He has 2 naps a day totalling 2.5hours. Wake window is 3, then 3.5 then 4hr

Hoping a phase or teething or learning a new skill but this seems to be lasting forever!!!!

Cap the last nap to half an hour. As soon as I did that, my boy started sleeping through the night. Use the time to extend the 1st wake window

Yeah I’d say (but not an expert!!) that he’s getting too much sleep in a 24hr period, so doesn’t have ‘sleep pressure’. Mine was the same, also never a ‘great sleeper’. Reduced day sleep to 1.5-2 hrs total and gave later bed time. Means wake windows are longer, but he is totally comfortable with that. Took about a week to reset, but getting 5 hr stretch at start and 2-3 wakes total.

Normal Development or Red Flag?

Hi everyone!

FTM here, please dont judge. My daughter is 9months and 2 weeks and there is some stuff that she does that im starting to think may be a red flag? Did you experience this with your 9m old? Am i just being super paranoid?

Here is what she does-
-super fast crawler
-great at standing and cruising
-responds to name 98% of time
-showing signs of understanding "no"

Red flags?
-makes great eye contact but not a fan of super up close contact (when being held, etc.)
-babbles only sometimes but mostly only vavava, baba sometimes she would throw mama
-recently started doing this repetitive head noding/rocking (back and forth) when standing or sitting..some days she doesnt sometimes she does it few time ina row
-Smiles at us and at people once comfortable but it takes her time, very serious baby
-was a great sleeper but recently started waking up multiple times a night

Newborn and sleep

Hey ladies
2 days post partum, I know people say sleep when baby sleeps but did anyone else struggle to relax when baby is sleeping due to concerns around if baby is ok, if they spit up in sleep, etc. etc. I can’t switch off and just looking for some reassurance thank

Parents with late bedtime toddlers

My toddler goes to sleep late, like 9.30/10pm. I’ve tried getting him down earlier but it just doesn’t work. He still gets his 11 hours sleep in day so he is not deprived of sleep. My question is for other moms in the same situation what do your toddlers do in that 7.30pm-10pm stage when you need to wind down and chill out.

18 month old co sleeping

My 18 month old boy is still sleeping with me and still breast feeding and night with frequent wakes - I’ve found that when he was younger it worked as he slept better, however I’m really struggling just now as I’m literally getting no sleep or rest. Any recommendations please.

Thanks

Changing newborn a second time post feed?

(Formula fed baby) - Our newborn is usually changed and then fed in the middle of the night but recently as they’re drinking more, they tend to then need changing a second time post feed as we can hear them 💩 half way through. We’ve found changing them the second time then stops them going down after the feed. Is there anything we can do to help them go down after? What do others doing in this case? Would you feed more?

Waking at 5am every day

Anyone else’s 8 month old waking up at 5am every single day? No matter what time he goes to sleep he wakes up at 5am. He usually goes to sleep at 7pm ish after been awake for 2.5-3 hours and then he usually sleeps through until 5.
Last night he went to sleep at 7 after been awake 3 hours, woke up at 10:30pm and then 3:40am and then 5 so even though he was awake in the night he still woke at 5😩
I don’t know how to get him to sleep longer than 5am!
