My 3 year old has mild autism, she can be pretty rigid with routine. She goes to the potty great when she’s naked on the bottom half. Asking to go, or just going on her own. But whenever she has anything on (pull up, underwear, shorts, etc. ) she will just potty in them and does not care if she’s wet. It’s like the potty doesn’t exist to her when she’s dressed. We’ve tried everything. Anyone else had this problem? How did you help?

My daughter was diagnosed with autism at 3 as well, she wasn't fully potty trained until 5 yrs old, she only wet the bed 1 time after that, and she's a fully functioning adult now. Going into her 2nd year of college and living in a dorm house with friends during the school year.

My son was diagnosed at 2, he wasn’t fully potty trained until 6 years old, he still has accidents on occasion. We took him to the potty once an hour and stopped giving liquids an hour before bed when he was little but was in pull-ups until 6. It helped but giving enough time is really important. ♥️
