Reassurance Please 😣

I am booked in for an elective c section on Friday this week. This is my first baby and I chose it due to anxiety reasons related to vaginal birth. As it is coming closer to the time I am finding it really hard to sleep, I am half excited and half terrified! Although I know this was the better choice for me in the long run, I cant help myself but worry still.

Just hoping for some last min reassurance that I am going to be okay - please share your stories.

I had an emergency caesarean (FTM) after getting to full dilation ready to push and having to not push as my baby was breach and diagonal. We were both absolutely fine thanks to all of the staff and it was a smooth surgery. In hospital for two nights then back home the following day and recovering well. I was driving at 5 weeks pp and I am now 7 weeks pp 😊 best of luck with your delivery! And congratulations

Absolutely normal feelings but honestly the best experience for me. Mine was planned but my waters broke 4 days before so it was classed as an emergency but a category 2 so I wasn’t rushed down, I was just admitted for the night and went down first thing.
So calming, everything I feared such as spinal, catheter, cannula was irrational because none of it was as bad as I thought. The recovery wasn’t horrendous either but do take it steady and keep on top of painkillers and you’ll be fine. Good luck! 🤍

I was gonna go in for an elective c section I ended up changing my mind due to other people opinion my daughter was 2 weeks overdue and the cord got stuck around her neck so ended up with emergency and I kept thinking wish I just booked that elective one in

I was in hospital for one night and my recovery went amazing ngl back driving about 5 weeks but only short drives due to partner going back to work I’m now 14 weeks pp

Ngl sometimes I wanna go back to that day laying on that bed with the sheets infront off me is scary but wouldn’t change it

Good luck with your delivery it’s gonna be the best thing ever

I had an emergency c section at 31 weeks with my first and an elective at 41 weeks with my second. Honestly, the elective was magical. I came out of the birth saying I’d do that again straight away and that I enjoyed it!

Back pain and induced labour

Just had my 34 week midwife appointment (been referred for an urgent scan as baby is measuring a little too big) but, my midwife has suggested advocating for a induction from 37 weeks due to my severe back pain. I have scoliosis and struggling to leave the house without being in excruciating pain. I’m not completely against the idea but want to hear opinions of others on induction! Please nothing too scary :( x

Is surgery and recovery from a planned csection is better than an emergency one or the same?

Elaborate if you want. I had an emergency cs with my first and an emergency cs with my second after a failed vbac. I want a third baby and its gonna be a planned cs (i dont think any doctor would let me do a tolac again) so i was wondering if the experience is different/better. Thanks

Private births

Has anyone had a private birth experience? Particularly an induction? I am looking at going to the Portland Hospital for a 38 week induction and wondering what people's experiences have been.

Small baby

I had my 31 week scan today and was told that my baby is on a small side. I didn't worry about that at all tbh as my husband was born small too so maybe runs in a family. I also had all tests for any genetical issues but all were negative.
Maternity Unit was really good they checked baby's heartbeat and set another scan in two weeks time.
I felt reassured, but now I started doing some research and reading (I know, not the most clever thing to do) and I'm now worried.
Should I worry? Or is it still early?
He has been moving a lot today and oh I get the most awful Braxton Hicks fairly few times a day .. ...

30w3d Dr App

Had my dr app this evening, and she checked the position of the baby. The baby is currently very low into my pelvis, that explains why I’m struggling standing at the moment such pressure there

This is my third baby, so I’ve a 16 year old, 3 year and this baby is due 24th of July

If the baby has gone in very deep to pelvis already, could I still go the full length of pregnancy or maybe early? He is measuring just 1 week and a half ahead
