My mom came to stay with me in house a couple days before my operation. And with a 4 day stay and blue my baby in the nicu, I couldn’t be more grateful to have the extra support. It gives my husband the flexibility to take care of me and the baby, someone is always with my dog, and the extra company is nice during a trying time. Never feel like you shouldn’t reach out for help🩵 you’re going to be recovering from an intense and serious surgery while also navigating life with a new baby who is also trying to figure out life with you. That baby needs you and sometimes us mama’s need someone to mother us too

Everyone healing process is different and will have huge impact on recovery. With my experience. Being a 4 weeks post c-section mom, the first couple days I heavily dependent not totally. My first week I was up and moving around helping cause I wanted to. Within 2 weeks I took over and my family was helping as needed and I’m 4 weeks and totally independent(thanks to God). I always say listen to your body if you’re doing something that’s causing negative effects don’t push it. But if you can try to be active(small walks here and there before you leave the hospital and try to stay active like being up and talking, helping to change baby all those will help aiding to a faster recovery time. I wish you well and may God be with you🙏🏽

Everyone's healing process is different. I felt pretty back to myself within a week. I didn't really need any help past the first few days

My husband stayed home on paternity leave for 3 weeks, I only focused on healing and resting with babe.
Then I had my mom come up for his first week back to work, to kinda slowly get me back into the swing of things and take on the toddler with baby aspect.
Doing the same this round with my 3rd.

Is surgery and recovery from a planned csection is better than an emergency one or the same?

Elaborate if you want. I had an emergency cs with my first and an emergency cs with my second after a failed vbac. I want a third baby and its gonna be a planned cs (i dont think any doctor would let me do a tolac again) so i was wondering if the experience is different/better. Thanks

Small baby

I had my 31 week scan today and was told that my baby is on a small side. I didn't worry about that at all tbh as my husband was born small too so maybe runs in a family. I also had all tests for any genetical issues but all were negative.
Maternity Unit was really good they checked baby's heartbeat and set another scan in two weeks time.
I felt reassured, but now I started doing some research and reading (I know, not the most clever thing to do) and I'm now worried.
Should I worry? Or is it still early?
He has been moving a lot today and oh I get the most awful Braxton Hicks fairly few times a day .. ...

Coffee while pregnant

I’m about 12 weeks pregnant rn. I’ve had some pretty bad nausea and fatigue since about 4-5 weeks along. I’ve noticed there are a number of days where coffee actually helps my nausea. I know we are supposed to limit how much caffeine we have daily and I stick to those limits but I was curious if anyone else noticed coffee helped their nausea too? Or possibly knew why?

30w3d Dr App

Had my dr app this evening, and she checked the position of the baby. The baby is currently very low into my pelvis, that explains why I’m struggling standing at the moment such pressure there

This is my third baby, so I’ve a 16 year old, 3 year and this baby is due 24th of July

If the baby has gone in very deep to pelvis already, could I still go the full length of pregnancy or maybe early? He is measuring just 1 week and a half ahead

Reassurance Please 😣

I am booked in for an elective c section on Friday this week. This is my first baby and I chose it due to anxiety reasons related to vaginal birth. As it is coming closer to the time I am finding it really hard to sleep, I am half excited and half terrified! Although I know this was the better choice for me in the long run, I cant help myself but worry still.

Just hoping for some last min reassurance that I am going to be okay - please share your stories.
