Looking at photos people have shared of their c-section scars, I can see lots of you have low scars that are just under the public hair line. Mine is way higher than that.
Does anyone know why they can be at different levels and if it means anything for future pregnancies and c-sections?

I’m not sure other than I know that if labour has progressed and baby has descended before the section then the scar can be lower? X

I think it’s to do with where the baby is positioned and also how quick they need to operate (some extreme emergencies can be vertically cut instead of horizontal) mine is slightly higher than pubic line but I’ve never been aware that the placement of the incision effects future births so unsure on that one but would doubt it.

My obstetrician said it’s lots of factors, including baby’s position, your body type and even the surgeon’s skill.
Both mine are inside my pubic hair, small and low. Both my babies were engaged and I was in active labour with my first. My surgeon though just said she put them low cause she could. My friends is up on her stomach and wonky, she said she had a male surgeon 🤷♀️

I hadn’t progressed so maybe that’s why it’s higher. I spoke to a doctor beforehand who told me she was going to be my surgeon but I ended up with two surgeons who I hadn’t spoken to and didn’t introduce themselves, so I do sometimes worry they didn’t do their best job.

Mine just above my public hair. When I sit it goes into a natural fold. If I was to wear really low underwear it would be visible but wearing granny pants like I do these days its not noticeable
