How much solids are we giving our babies??

How much solids are you giving your little one?

I feel there is so much conflicting information out there that I dont know if I am doing right from wrong...

My little one has 3 meals and a small snack a day and an average of 760ml of milk a day across 4 feeds.

Am I over feeding??? Should I give less solids and more milk?

I did a class with the baby academy and am following their guidance but NHS guidance is different....

I will be speaking to my GP about this on Tuesday as I have other things i need to discuss too but just wanted to get an idea from here if I am over feeding... šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

How old is your little one?

I feed my LO 9oz formula when she wakes up at around 7am then she has a weetabix about 9am then shortly after she naps, she will then have some lunch around 12/1pm which usually consists of half a sandwich or a small wrap with some cheese spread of something and some fruit or veg sticks on the side, then has a 6oz bottle around 2:30pm but doesn’t always drink it all then will have dinner around 5pm with a final 9oz bottle at bedtime around 7pm

Don’t feel too stressed as every baby is different and some need more food and others need less x

so until 12 months milk is still your babies main form of nutrition, so food shouldn’t be replacing feeds and should be complimentary- however i exclusively breastfeed and am doing baby led weaning so because its finger food not puree he doesn’t really eat much of it anyway so i do 3 small meals. this is just what im doing, you know your baby and all babies are different- my little man is a little and often kinda guy and always has been, my friends baby likes one big meal and calls it a day. i feed milk on demand (im not sure much about formula) hope this was helpful at all

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN a similar SITUATION?

If yes, what did you do to help your child and yourself?

This is what happened:ā¬

We were playing outside on the balcony, but it wasn’t very safe for him because of the dirt and other things, so we came back inside. I washed his hands. He was crying a little at that point.

I then tried to calm him down and breastfed him. He settled briefly but then started crying again. This time the crying intensified because he was very upset. At one point, his cry became silent and his body became stiff, and his mouth was open.

I immediately responded, held him tightly, and called his name out loud. After a short moment, his body relaxed and returned to normal.

He seemed a bit shocked afterward, as if confused about what had just happened. I comforted him and said, ā€œMama is here, you are okay.ā€ Then I became very emotional and cried🄹

I am absolutely and completely tired of this.
WWYD?

I have 3 children, all under 7 years old, my youngest child is almost 2 years old I have tried everything to prevent this area where we eat to be sanitary right? I have changed the dining area twice, I removed his high chair because I wasn’t getting help from my spouse cleaning it!! not the tray, he would carelessly be leaving the mess for me to clean everything up, he doesn’t wipe down the tables after meals so it remains dirty! I have placed a carpet that is easy to clean under the tables we have had in this dining area and so i can vacuum it however even with all these changes I’ve been trying to make everything easier on myself . my husband constantly continues to leave me to clean up the mess after the kids eat but he constantly asks me for sex! he will leave the mess, have sex with me and go to work like 30 minutes early the last straw was yesterday. I really don’t know what to do anymore, I cook because it’s healthier and easier to feed 3 kids with home cooked meals but my husband is not listening at all to what I am saying. I am tired of it. I need advice. I’m tired of being treated like a maid this is just 1 out of 10 other things I do in the home by myself. I told him off so bad last night and he didn’t come home after work.

Making baby food and freezing in ice cube trays…

How are people defrosting each puree cube when baby is ready to eat it? NHS is saying not to use the defrost setting on the microwave or leave it out at room temp?

When to give Calpol

How long do you hold out on giving Calpol for teething? My LO is 5 months and has no visible teeth coming through but is so desperate to chew on anything, getting very fussy and making a sort of constant whining sound. He won't be put down and is also pretty unhappy being carried. Today Is definitely the worst it's been. Is this Calpol time??

Baby activity

What do you do with a baby in this heat? Don’t want to sit at home but it’s hot out so can’t exactly just sit outside 😩
