Luckily my son doesn't even take the stuff bcz h doesn't know what it is and there's always someone persistent on giving him stuff. They say something like,”it's strawberry it just melts in your mouth “ an adults .Yeah I know what strawberry is and I don't want whatever that is.I know they are trying to win his smile but he knows food.Even at an actual hospital waiting, someone is offering gold fish , a hospital.I understand in America people don't care about food , but I swear I wish people offered normal stuff like an actual fruit .At friends’ house, in-laws , everywhere you go .And people look at me like I'm the crazy one for not even knowing what that stuff is , they keep saying, “oh you don’t like this” it's really good.…i truly don't I didn't grow up here and I've tasted that stuff it's not even good 😭.Rant over !

Tell them no?

Get a badge or pin made that says “please do not feed me American slop”

I grew up here and this also pisses me off like why are you trying to stuff my kid with fucking suckers and sugar every minute?
One time at a party someone actually said to me,” oh you are one of those” 😖bcz I had brought packed lunch for my son despite them communicating they'll have pizza,
It's like.” why don't you do what the rest of us do so we can all be comfortable “😖
And you will see it right here in the comments, spot the passive aggressiveness coming wrapped in jokes bcz obviously I'm the crazy one….

The actual route that I personally go in handling these situations though, is just saying “he’s allowed to have it if he wants it!”
It works out for us cause My son doesn’t tend to love eating in loud environments so when we’ve been at parties he doesn’t really even want whatever treats are being peddled to him anyways & then there’s not a huge amount of questions as to why anybody said no.

I just say “we don’t eat that” and if they push and ask questions like why i just repeat “we dont eat that”. I don’t owe anyone an answer especially now understanding theyre not going to agree with me and try telling me im “too strict”. I had a DOCTOR offer my one year old a lollypop and after telling them no thank you he made a comment about parents these days!? Safe to say never went back to him again. Save your peace, no one needs to have an opinion on what you feed your child especially when it’s about removing things you consider unhealthy from their diet.
There are fast foods attached to hospitals 🤣,inside actual hospitals .
