Swaddled babies in heatwave

To the mums of babies who love a swaddle at night time....what are you guys doing during this heatwave?! I'm worried its too hot in our room to swaddle, and annoyingly she won't stop flapping her arms around and chewing her hands which is keeping her up/waking her up during the night 🫠

My son is in a nappy and a 0.2 tog love to dream swaddle. We tried him in just a nappy and he didn't like it. He has been sleeping happily with the lighter swaddle for the past few nights

Myns just been in a nappy and she’s managed okay, my room is 26 degrees 🥵

I put her in a nappy and a tshirt and swaddled with a muslin …window is open and she slept very well for the past two nights

It’s 23-24 in my room and use the love to dream swaddles. Guidelines on their website say 24+ to use short sleeve romper and 1 tog so Iv got him in a vest and 1 tog as he’s a warm baby

Could you undo the bottom of the swaddle? I’ve unzipped mine so her bottom half is just in a nappy with her tummy and bit of her chest out but top half still swaddled

We’ve basically just swaddled our babies arms and his legs are out we have a Velcro swaddle. He’s just in a nappy underneath. I keep checking to make sure he’s still cool. Fan is on oscillating round the room and our gro egg is still saying 28.3

Safe sleep

My baby’s room is currently 31 degrees I’ve had the blinds and curtains and window shut all day and only just opened the window to get some air in I have now put a fan in that blowing around the room it points onto her for a few seconds and blows straight back off on a low setting is this safe? Panicking 😩🤣

Sleeping in heatwave

When is everyone putting their babies to bed. I only ask because our bedroom egg thermometer is currently saying 30.3 degrees which is obviously far too hot for bub. We are camped out in the lounge with all the doors/windows open with fans on. I am also finding it difficult to get her to sleep because she is so used to being swaddled. Any tips or ideas?

Baby and breastfeeding

I have a 3 week old and I am exclusively breastfeeding, I’ve found in the past week or so, he latches on very well to one breast and drinks with no problem but the other breast, he will latch bit detach himself after a bit and I’m having to latch him on several times. When he does detach milk usually sprays everywhere which makes me think it’s the flow that’s quite strong, but has anyone else had this problem before and can offer some advice? Thank you!

Is so selfish to continue to have kids when you’re barely scraping by financially and mentally

My friend, just announced her pregnancy and she just had her third baby 8 months ago?! And she already has a one and two year old. She constantly vents about how things are so tight financially but “makes things work”. These kids end up suffering 😢I’m usually such a supportive friend, but this…. I can’t support. It’s low key making me not want to be friends with her. Coming from someone who is two and done, I recognized my limit and drew a line and overall I’m just tired of hearing her rant about how things are so tight financially and always venting about her marital problems and then continues to add to her stress. Reality has to set in some time!? Should I cut her off?

Gro Egg reliability???

It’s showing as 25 degrees in our bedroom again tonight, but our 5 week old won’t sleep in just a nappy so we put him in a vest and he was still upset so we added a sleep suit and he managed to sleep. But based on all the advice we’ve seen online this is the wrong amount of layers for the room temp. Beginning to think the gro egg isn’t accurate as we have been sleeping comfortably in thin pjs and a duvet with a fan by the bedroom door and window open (fan not near baby and doesn’t blow on him). I’m so stressed about it, is anyone else feeling the same?!
