Waking up baby for feeding - sleeping a lot in heatwave

How do you wake up your baby if they need to be fed?
With the heatwave my baby (5 weeks) is sleeping a lot at the moment but want to wake every 2-3 hours for feeding so he doesn't get dehydrated (and so my b00bs don't get too engorged!), but I am struggling to get him awake enough to feed 🙈
I have tried a nappy change and nappy free time but doesn't seem to have made a difference.
Any tips?

We struggled to wake up my 4,5 week year old last night for the same reason. The only thing that worked was a cold wipe on his toes and small tickles

My baby is bottle fed but when we struggled to feed him at the beginning our midwife told us to tickle his feet (rub them gently) that always did the trick for us x

Yeah I wake my 4 weeks old to feed a
Every 2-3 hours in the heat. Sometimes more if we are out and about in the heat. It's also a good idea to offer boob when your boobs start to get a little full and uncomfortable anyway.

Try rubbing a wet wipe on baby's tummy and chest and then blowing on it. The cool air should help wake him up.

I also find if my little one is being sleepy when I want him to feed I'll hand express a little milk straight onto his lips or into his mouth. That usually wakes him up when he realises the boobies are available 😂😂 xxx

Does this nappy look to big?

He’s just in the size bracket for the pampers and I haven’t really used them before and bit of poop came out of the top of the back.

Cot bumpers/rolling in cot

Hey all,

My six month old daughter can roll from back to front, but she cannot yet roll front to back. She is currently rolling in her cot and not able to roll back onto her back.

She is in her own room now, and I’m getting worried that I won’t hear her in the middle of the night if she’s on her front.

I was wondering if there is anything out there that can help prevent her rolling in the cot.

I also need recommendations for cot bumpers due to her getting her legs stuck through the panels on the cot when rolling (picture of cot below).

Thank you x

I got the ick, am I terrible?

I’ve been getting the ick from mother in law and really wish I wouldn’t!

I’m 7mos postpartum and it’s still just as strong as when I was freshly postpartum but I’d been shoving it down hoping it’d disappear. It’s to the point where I wash everything after she holds baby and want to bathe her right after but worried I’d offend my husband. She kisses her so much, like keeps her lips on her when she’s holding her, and I’ve never told her not to but it drives me crazy and now she’s given her a nickname that’s after her own name (she’s named after the women in my family so it feels weirdly personal).

Am I just hormonal af???

Are you happy?

If you’re not, please reach out to someone (professional and personal)

Thanks to seeing my doctor when I was struggling and choosing a fairly low dose of medication I can now click ‘mostly’ on this poll.

Before; it would have been ‘no’.
Not because I am unhappy in my relationship or with my 3 young children but because I wasn’t feeling myself and wasn’t being the best I could be for them (I looked after them all and even played with them but I personally felt like shit)

Now I feel so much better and almost every day is a happy one since I have sought help so I encourage people in the same position as I was to do the same xx

Bedtime Routine

My LO is just over 6 weeks old and we’ve found she’s starting sleeping about 7-8 hour stretches at night. We have always fed on demand and never set any routine but she seems to have settled into a routine of feeding about 6/7pm and then will wake about 2/3am and then go again for another 4 hours.

How can I adjust her bedtime so she goes to sleep about 9/10pm so we can get an undisturbed night sleep.

I know we are so lucky for her to have this routine this early but would like to see if possible to move her routine back.
