What kind of work do you do? It really depends. I think it's more to do with feeling ready to detach a little from baby - for them to no longer have 100% of your attention... The actual physical recovery doesn't necessarily take long at all, depending on what you consider recovered. I'd almost say 2-3 weeks to feel like I'm getting a handle on things and my body is feeling a lot better - but at that stage I'm settling into motherhood and not ready to give baby even 1% less of my attention. And even with my body feeling better, technically I may still not be fully recovered for another 3 to 6 months as my body is still finding it's way back to normal.

Then there's mental changes to work through.... That could be different for everybody but for me I was mentally ready to work and craving it at 4 months, but overwhelmed at the thoughts of baby not being ready. By 6 months if they're developing well I felt ready

I have friends that went back to work at 3m, they either couldn’t do the sahm life or they just really miss work (they did have mat leave they just didn’t wanna take it) My salsa teacher taught dance all the way till 39w pregnant and came back to teach at 2m, now she’s just had her 2nd (danced til 39w again) and has been announced she’s coming back to teach again at 2m pp. Some mums go back to work/hobby/dance very quick for their own reasons.

I went back after a month to childcare, but my mental health was terrible. I had recovered physically but was not ready to be back and quit after a few weeks. I’m hopeful this time I will be able to cope better🫶

I think it depends on your body tbh and how many and how frequently you're having babies my first pregnancy after the six weeks I was good but went back to work 3 days after leaving the hospital but guilt and PPD was really bad my second I didn't go back to work and healing that time was a bit faster but a was really active before and after that pregnancy but that last pregnancy that one took awhile to heal from and 3 years later I still have some core weakness but she was also my hardest delivery and I finally started back working a year after she was born

This is hardddddd

I knew being a mum wouldn’t be easy but I naively didn’t expect it to be this hard 😩 my 5 month old needs constant entertainment, I can’t even step out of the room to grab a drink without her crying.

Just wondering if anyone else is finding this as difficult as I am? I can’t say I’m particularly enjoying it and that makes me feel awful ā˜¹ļø I love her to pieces but wow I’ve never worked so hard and still felt like I was failing 😩

Back again..

Back on the app..again... all conversations fade off.. when i reply to posts of women saying they're desperate for new friends.. i get no replies or they fade off after a polite msg or two. Am I the only one who's never had a big group of girlfriends to hang out with? My kids are pre teen age and since the old teen drinking crowd faded off 15 years ago I'm still searching for basic friendship. Is it just me? šŸ˜”

My former best friend ditched me and im trying to understand why.

Im really just ranting here. Please be gentle with me. My best friend of 25 years , we were single , messy and childfree together and then she got pregnant at 18, got married and I was still a single loser and her forever sidekick. I was always always there helping her take care of her baby girl. And when her terrible no good husband cheated and left I was of course always there. Years later she got remarried to an amazing kind man and had another beautiful baby! I was still there babysitting so they could have date nights! I also got married to a long time friend and me and my husband baby sat for her all the time! We tried to get pregnant for years and years and even while we were trying ivf , we still baby sat at least once a month. Finally I had my first baby and I felt a complete shift from my friend. She never offered to throw a baby shower or anything like this first of all even though I threw TWO BABY SHOWERS, BACHELORETTES etc etc. Her and husband came to see us weeks after the baby was born and then there was a real real distance. I felt really weird like where are you.. I need you the most now. I dont know wtf im doing. I have much younger sister and brother so my mom is busy with them! Then when I had my second baby.. it was almost radio silence. She brought over a gift and that was it. She told us theyre planning to move to Colorado from where we live in Toronto for husbands work. Which is great im super happy for them but I just thought it was very weird about not being happy for me about my babies especially knowing I struggled with fertility etc. So she moved. And now she keeps flying back to Toronto all the time to see another friend of hers, who used to be just an acquaintance, this friend is single party girl, no husband or kids. Never calls or msgs me anymore. Is she upset that I had kids? I was still willing to babysit. I just needed to like figure out my own baby for a bit?? Like?? Wtf is the deal

Looking for a bestie

I'm just trying to come out of my comfort zone of my anxiety 😬 so let's here goes nothing! Hi I'm Savannah but y'all can call me Sav or Savvy ā¤ļø but I'm a SAHM which I have 2 step kiddos (who are almost 9 and 11) I also have a almost 5 year old plus I'm pregnant right now with my second which I will be knowing the gender really soon now plus I have a Airforce Veteran for a boyfriend! I have a cat named Sunshine Marie and a dog Lexi Mae! I love to play games, watch horror movies, and listening to serial killer documentaries šŸ™ˆ especially if I'm watching Bailey Sarian! I'm not the best at communicating due my anxiety sometimes but I would love to find a bestie!
