I am currently on maternity and have only received SMP, we were able to save to make sure bills are covered but think if we were to have another this would be really tough.
I feel if its not advertised as a benefit asking about mat pay wouldn’t be ideal in an interview.
What companies pay above smp? Personally looking for those in northwest.

North East and we work for railways pensions. I get a year off fully paid and my partner got 6 months

McDonald’s! I’m very serious.
A guy told me his wife works there, she get 9 months full pay and if you want the additional 3 months, that’s SMP

The big corporates

Civil service, councils, NHS, most universities

At nandos it was 3 months full pay then 6 months SMP but after that we could have another 3 months off but it would be unpaid
