Hi! What really helped with my litlle girl is white noise and love to dream swaddle. Also when putting the baby in the bassinet put his bottom first and then the head.I know is difficult, but it will get better! ☺️

Oh I have I have ignored that as it’s the only way I sleep

Have you tried a sleeping bag? Snuggle him in the bag, feed and bed with white noise. I personally recommend Ewan the sheep - he is white noise and heart beat

My little one was the same, she would only sleep being held. I ended up sitting up most nights and it was really taking it's toll.
Have you tried the bassinet in a different room ? I have no idea if it was a coincidence but the first time my little one eventually settled (around 8 weeks old) was in the lounge. I slept on the sofa for a few nights and then was able to move the next to me into the bedroom again.
I know it is really tough, just know it does get better xx

Try different types of swaddle. I 2nd the love to dream. It was a life saver for me as my LO was the same for the first couple weeks

Put the feet down 1st, then the bottom. Then hold for several seconds, then slowly lower the body down and then the head. Try patting his thigh whilst doing so.

Another method is to lay down on the side 1st, so you can keep patting the bottom. Once laying in crib on side, then gently roll onto the back, making sure to hold the hands if not swaddled, to prevent startle reflex

Oh, also, the first few weeks he slept in his pram with a rocket turned on all night. Gosh, id almost forgotten this! Honestly, its was the ONLY thing he would sleep in

NAPPY/DIAPER PREFERENCE

So I’ve been trying out different nappies to find the best for baby girl. With my eldest daughter I used pampers and they were rubbish so I didn’t bother with them and switched to Aldi nappies and only used Aldi nappies with my son. Huggies are a no go for me.

So far number 3 (rascals) have been working the best for baby girl with number 4 in close second.

Which nappies if any of these have you found the best for your LOs?

1. Tesco (Fred and Flo)
2. Asda (Little Angels)
3. Most supermarkets (Rascals)
4. Aldi (Mamia)

If you have any other suggestions for other brands please feel free to drop a comment 🩷

Shein clothes

Im starting to look at getting some clothes. My partner doesn't like the idea of clothes from Shien because of the possible chemicals. Has anyone ever had any issues with baby clothes from them?

Feeling like utter crap

When will this end? I feel terrible. Overweight, biggest I've ever been in my life, unsexy, barely get a chance to shower most days, make up is non existent, hair is suffering. Clothes awful. Mood low majority of the time what I do is just a distraction for how awful I feel inside. I am deeply grateful for my children, but I just can't seem to get it together energy wise. My youngest is 5 months.

Help settle this not serious debate between my husband and me

This is for kids old enough to play in the bath.
Do you wash your kids first then fill up the bath so they can play?
OR
Do you fill up the bath, let them play then drain and wash?

Burping a newborn

Does anyone have any tips for burping a newborn. My baby is 2 weeks old and breastfed, and I've been really struggling to get any good burps out of him.

I know that breastfed babies generally have less gas, but sometimes he does the little gassy smile or scrunches his knees up & no matter what I try I can't get a burp out of him. He's also very fussy and wriggly when I get him into any burping position.

GHIC card for baby

Has anyone successfully applied for this for their baby? The NHS page says you need a NI number which obviously I don’t have for my baby. Otherwise it says I can add family members to my
own application, but I already have a card. Hope someone can help!
