Before having a baby I was terrified of not having a secure routine. I understand that as babies develop things change and routines changes but I always worried I’d be in constant anxiety over lack of routine.
My baby is 10 weeks old and my mental health has never ever been better. From the moment she came home she slotted into our home perfectly.
This isn’t to say the routine doesn’t change from time to time be we move and adjust with her.
My partner goes to work 5 days a week so I do the nights/daytime by myself and he helps with the evening and has her by himself overnight if I need that extra sleep or support!
In the mornings we get up around 10am and I take her downstairs to feed her. I wash and sterilise all her bottles and all my pump parts whilst she’s feeding. Whenever she naps I get all the washing done and I make sure the house is all in order. In the evening my partner takes her to bed whilst I reset the house. I feel like I’m really on top of things since having her which is so weird because I expected it to be the complete opposite.
I struggled massively during pregnancy with my mental health from a pre-existing condition that was out of control. I’ve never felt more stable/happy since she’s been with us. The house is cleaner, my partner and I are happier. And I’m loving watching my little girl grow up in such a calm and loving environment.

I could have written this myself!! Being pregnant was awful in terms of routine building. But my bub is almost 10 weeks too and my routine has never been better! Almost similar to yours tbh, as my husband works 5 days a week as well. Literally just the other day I was able to have a full shower / shave, exfoliate and moisturise and skincare, whilst baby napped. It was amazing because timing things is genuinely the key to this. I do laundry and dishwasher at the afternoon naps. In the evening I order the food shop and general admin. There’s just more time. Also we are no longer pregnancy tired and the extra allowed caffeine is great also haha
