I registered my baby today and have chosen not to include his father on the birth certificate, for various reasons. I was wondering if anyone else has been in the same position? If so, how did you tell your baby’s Dad and / or how did he react?

Are you married? If not, he would have had to go with you. They won't put a father on the certificate in their absence if you aren't married

They will either not mind or threaten you with court (which seems to be the majorities go to 🤣)
They can apply for Parental responsibility through court if they really want to.
If they're not a safe person for you or baby to be around then you could always ask for him to prove paternity before applying for PR.
If there is safeguarding concerns regarding the father, it is really important to let them be known to someone (health visitors, midwives, etc.) incase he does react badly too

my father isn’t on my birth certificate. i’m 22 years old and haven’t had any contact with him so i’m pretty sure if you’re not married they can’t do anything
