UK mums…

How many appointments have you had so far with your midwife? Not including scans and glucose tests and stuff. Just general midwife appointments.
I’m 27 weeks tomorrow and I’ve only had 1 and I can’t help but think that’s not right?? I’ve been trying to get in touch with my midwife because I’ve been told I need to book my next one for 28 weeks and for some reason I can’t get in touch with her at all!!

I’ve spoken to my doctors who keep bouncing me around different people/phone numbers. I’ve spoken to the midwifery team at the hospital who have told me that Im definitely on her books still but she should have chased me up right now and that all they can do is suggest I keep trying the GP…. So really I’m a bit lost 😐

Second pregnancy and I swear I’d had at least 5 by this point last time!!

I’m 27 weeks today & I’ve had 4 appointments . I had booking one at 9 weeks, 13 week appointment, 16 week appointment, 26 week appointment & next one is when I’m 28 weeks x

Second baby - I had two so far. Booking app around 8 weeks and 16 weeks. Next one is at 28 weeks. However, she said with the second child you get less appointments with the midwife.

That sounds very confusing, you shouldn't have to chase them.. if you have badger notes app there's usually some contacts there under 'my care team', might be worth looking x

You definitely shouldn’t have to chase! Do you have the community midwife number? Can you try and see if they can either email or ring her for you?

Definitely less appts with baby 2. I am high risk and pregnant with baby number 2 and I’ve only had my 8-10 week booking and a 16 week appt. I’m due again soon at 26 weeks then again at 36 I think it is and that’s it. Second baby deffo less appts with my first (he’s 2) I felt like I was always there. X

Another May baby!

Little man made his entrance a few days earlier than planned via cat 3 section because of GD causing placenta issues. He’s been hanging out on a blue light bed for a few days but seems to be much better now and jaundice has cleared. I know lots of people have worries about not expressing colostrum beforehand and I did too- I went into this having failed to express anything and a lot of reasons why my baby would need it. The second he was born I was able to express what he needed for his sugars and he’s been ebf since without an issue. Excited to see the rest of the babies make their appearances!!

Early scan

Needed an early scan for peace of mind that everything is progressing well!
Not a great deal to see as everything is still so small but the heart beat was fluttering away 😍

Naturally inducing labour?

I know lots of people have posted about this already but I needed to make my own because I’m low key freaking out.
I just saw the consultant, she said everything is looking great except my blood pressure is a little high and my BMI is high. She said that I need to go to a day assessment clinic once a week to be monitored for my blood pressure and to keep an eye on any swelling etc.
She also says she advises I be induced between 39 and 40 weeks.

What old wives tales can I try to make sure I don’t need the induction? 🙃
Any other advice?

(I know everyone says “just say no” but if it’s medically necessary I don’t feel like I should say no 🤷🏻‍♀️)
