People not understanding baby/toddler is leading to meltdowns.

My 13 month old is very chatty and has about 20 words. He has about 5-6 very clear words and the rest are unclear, for example eeee for tree or hop for help.

He gets incredibly frustrated when left with other family members as they cannot understand what he is saying (not at nursery). This often leads to throwing himself on the floor, throwing objects or getting upset. Often this happens because he is asking for something, like help or certain thing and the other person doesn’t understand.

Yeah my little girl had tantrums when she was frustrated about not being understood. It is a lot better now (23 months) in that sense as we can communicate so she doesn't get frustrated that we don't know what's she's saying, but now the tantrums are about being told no!

It is very common for toddlers to be frustrated and have tantrums, especially when there is a communication barrier. Wouldn’t you be frustrated if nobody understood you? It will phase out as their words become clearer and they can say more :)

Maybe write a list of words to translate? That what I ended up doing when looking after my niblings. My niece use to call cereal 'parsha' (no idea why) so I kept a little list of words and what they meant go her. I'd sometimes have to write it phonetically because I had no idea how to spell the made up words 😅😂 but it helped with the barrier and meltdowns!

When is it weird?

I've seen a handful of posts talking about nudity in the house around young kids and I feel like it's agreed that it's normal for there to be a naked mom or to see mom naked, but my question is if it applies to dad? Is mom allowed to be naked (not in a creepy way obvi) but Dad has to be covered all the time? Is it okay if Dad is seen naked getting out of the shower/getting dressed?? Is it okay if he's boxers only in the house? And bath time, can they take a bath/shower with Dad while they're still little (like 6 or younger). Does it change if it's a son or daughter? If theres an age where it changes what is it?
**not including any weird or over sexualized behavior or motives because that's a separate topic and obviously those cases aren't ever okay**

Feeding

How many ounces is everyone’s baby on?
My 1 month old is on 4 and seems to still be hungry after bottles, but looking at the recommended dosage on the back of the tin of milk 5 ounces is usually for a 3 month old!

Daughter showing signs she wants a pillow

When did you all introduce pillows to your little ones? My daughter is turning one next week. During her naps and sometimes when we cosleep, she seems to seek out something to use as a pillow. Is she still too young to introduce one?

Weaning off formula

Hey ladies, how did you wean your baby off formula and how quickly do I need to do this? My baby just turned 1 year old. She's still on between 300 - 500mls of formula per day. We are trying to limit formula during the day but she's waking up hungry overnight. I feed her 3 main meals and I'm trying to bulk up the snacks as well. She refuses toddler formula, cows milk or any combo, so it's still infant formula. She's also been sick so we are hesitant to change too much right now. Any advice on this would be appreciated 🙏
