Induction

I’m currently 38 weeks today. I have a scan on Monday as baby has been measuring bigger but not too big. On Tuesday I have a consultant appointment where they will give me a sweep.

They have advised that they do not want me going past my due date due to babies size, GD and strep B.

However, I never had any of this with my first baby and I’m so nervous and scared. I really don’t want an induction. Has anyone ever been in this or a similar situation?

All I hear about inductions is negative, a lot of pain and most end up in a c-section.

I'm in this position too (just not strep b) and have an induction booked at 39 weeks. I have another growth scan booked this week so going to see what this one shows and had a cord and fluid check that looked on track. I'm leaning towards pushing the induction further to 40 weeks if I can. I have also told the consultant that if when they check my cervix it is not favourable or doing it's thing at induction I will opt for c-section at that point (which makes them back track a little as a I had a natural first birth).

I’ve had inductions with both my boys.
My first son I was induced at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure I also had GD on diet normal growth. I had pessary and two lots of gel then whilst awaiting the labour ward to have my waters broken they broke by themselves. I had an epidural at 2cm but that was for my blood pressure not for pain relief at that point. I started the hormone drip and was 3cm 6 hours later then 4 hours after that I was 10cm, pushed for 1hr 20mins, no tears and normal bleeding.

My second son I was induced at 37 weeks due to GD on metformin and a fair amount of insulin and still my fasting sugars were uncontrolled, he was measuring big, I also had high blood pressure. I had pessary and 1 gel and then had to wait some time to go to labour ward they broke my water then 2 hours later I started the hormone drip I did 3 hours with my comb and tens machine then another 3 hours with gas and air. I was 5cm but my body was trying to push him out so I got an epidural but it

Didn’t work properly but made it manageable with the gas and air then I was 10cm shortly after and pushed for 15 mins, no stitches, slightly heavier bleeding but he was 8lb 13oz at 37+3. Both of my inductions were positive experiences. I have videos of some of both labours and also the births which I am happy to share with you if you’d like

C section

Hi mums I had c section 10 days ago and was taking paracetemol and ibuprofen regularly
I stopped taking ibuprofen last night as was upsetting my tummy but noticed this morning how much pain I’m in without it.
Does it really do much for the pain? I was only taking paracetemol.
How long was you on pain killers after c section?

Huge baby!

Is it just me or are these 2026 babies built differently? My 7 week old baby is outgrowing EVERYTHING. He's in 0-3 month clothing but I genuinely don't think I've got much more room in it... For comparison, here's my first born in a onesie at 4 months old Vs my 7 week old in the exact same onesie 🫣🤣 think I'm going to be reaching the 3-6 months out sooner rather than later 🤣
