Scheduled c-section

Evening everyone! I’m really considering a scheduled section
I don’t want any criticism, how ‘labour is natural’ etc.
I had an emergency c section in July 2021. My waters broke at 12am and 19 hours later they delivered my son, I know labour is hard, especially your first, but what I endured in them 19 hours was SO scary, I was having panic attacks in the birthing pool from the pain, NOTHING worked (codeine, g&a, pethidine) it was so scary, me and my baby got so poorly because it was left too long. It was genuinely such a traumatic birth, once I got that needle in my back ready for my section, it was the best thing ever
I know recovery is difficult, but I’d like to go in, have my baby and go home, as I have a second one at home, not being exhausted from labour
What is everyone’s experience? Especially for mums who have kids at home? Not gonna lie the only thing putting me off is the social pressure 🤣 thanks :)

I had an elective section with my little boy in December, and honestly it was the most magical experience ever! And to be able to have some control was so reassuring. We had our playlist playing the whole time, I still got skin to skin after and it was just so calm!

Recovery wise everyone is different but mine was a breeze, and that’s coming from someone with 0 pain tolerance. I was begging the midwifes to let me get up and walk I hated being stuck in bed, I didn’t have any pain at all and was walking in a few hours and out the next day. I was back to normal abd doing my normal life stuff after 3 days x

I loved having a c section. It wasn't my plan but they needed the baby out ASAP and wouldn't let me have him full term. The process was quick and easy the recovery wasn't too bad either. A lot of other mums I know have had c sections. I don't understand the stigma around it. All that matters is that you and the baby are happy and healthy no one should have an opinion on how they were birthed. Your experience is a valid reason to have one not that you should need one. Anyone should be able to have one guilt free no matter the situation.

At the end of the day its your body, you experience and YOUR CHOICE. Don't know anything about a second c section, I had a CAT 1 emergency c section a month ago. Was far from what I planned and very traumatic never even went into labour. But at the end of it both me and my baby were safe. Thats the most important thing 👏 im interested in hearing people's experience of a second c section, do what you feel is right for you but always bare in mind things rarely go as planned 😅

I had an emergency C-section with my first in 2023 and elective C-section with my twins 2 weeks ago. As long as you have support at home those first couple weeks personally I think a C-section is the better way to go after my experience with my first but if you don’t have much support recovering from a cscetion with a older child has its challenges! I wouldn’t of survived the last 2 weeks without my husband (but I do have 2 newborns)

I plan to have a planned c section after an emergency one in 2024. I just want to avoid a traumatic birth/ emergency c section. I think anyone who critisises this choice can do one.

This exactly happened to me! As soon as I was on that table I was so chilled I had a nap next thing my baby was crying and he was here! We spent a week in hosptial and I’m thankful for that as when I got out I was a lot better and could manoeuvre around! As much as I wanted a natural a c section was actually better for me! I experience labour and contractions and c section !

I had a scheduled c section last year. I went into labor a week before it was scheduled but still had a c section. It was absolutely the best choice. Recovery was super easy (I’ve heard that if you labor for a while and then have one, recovery is much harder), the process was very chill, and we avoided some potential complications we were worried about.

Gender scan uncertainty

I had my gender scan at 15w GA in WTTW and was told it’s a boy… I don’t know what I’m looking for but my boys scans did not look like this one and my friends due in July and was scanned at 15 weeks and her gender scan looks the same as my previous pregnancies… (I have twin boys and she’s having a boy) so I’m so unsure about the decision on this scan!

I’m probably wishful thinking as I’d love a little girl but thought I’d post for any advice or what you think? I haven’t got any girls to compare

Packing for Induction

What would you suggest to pack more of or extra for an induction? This is my first and I currently have my bag packed for a spontaneous birth but induction is looking more likely. Thanks in advance!

Birth partner

I never see section birth partner is probably very different from a natural birth, birth partner.
Are there any key things that I need my birth partner to know or to do to be able to support me through a gentle c section?

C-section

I’m 38 weeks, c-section is booked for next week.
I’m so sad as I really wanted to try give birth this time as I didn’t get the chance with my first born.
😞 but nothings happening no signs nothing

88th Percentile

Hi just needed a bit of advice. Not sure what to do or if I’m panicking for nothing.

I’m just over 33weeks and have started growth scans due to my long term condition. During this scan I was told that my baby is measuring at the 88th percentile? When I’ve been measured by the tape all this time it’s shown to be 50th percentile (I know it’s not accurate).

Anyway the doc said that if it reaches 90th percentile then will be looking to see if I have GD? But when I had my glucose tolerance test at 25weeks it was fine.

I know I’m just hormonal but feeling so guilty and can’t stop crying. I’ve had a rough pregnancy sickness and foodwise and haven’t had that much to eat. The only thing I’ve been able to handle is fruit, ice lollies and coffee frappes (without the cream). Did I induce this?

Any advice would be appreciated.
