This is my first time enrolling my child and it felt like a weird requirement but maybe that's normal? They will already be receiving their birth certificate that has both parents' signatures. A marriage license isn't requirement for parents who were married before birth or for parents with the same last name, that's the part that makes me feel odd about it.

Learn more about our guidelines. My husband and I had our child before getting married, I kept my own last name, but we're married and the birth parents (our current names match the ones on our child's birth certificate) so I just am not understanding why I have to prove custody of our child in this way that married-before-birth or same-last-name parents don't have to?

Very strange to me that the child’s birth certificate isn’t enough? Idk why they need a marriage license
