we were recommended to wait up to 18 months to conceive again, it feels a really prolonged time and quite a gap between babies. Can anyone that has had shorter penalties let me know any complications to consider? (Aiming for vbac if possible) Thanks

With my first and second it was 5 years . Then my second and 3rd i got pregant when I was 7 months post c section. With my 3rd and 4th they will be 2 years apart.

With vbac you need to let your body fully heal cuz then you’ll have a higher chance of your scar reopening. Unless you want another c section i recommend to wait I waited 3 years for mine because that sounded scary

I think don’t get pregnant before 9 months postpartum if you want to try for a vbac at all. We got pregnant 10 months postpartum and eveything was great in the pregnancy. I had 10 months to heal and I think that was a pretty good time. Our kids were 19 months apart

So I would wait a few more months to start trying again. Wait as long as you can but I understand wanting to try earlier haha. So if you didn’t have any complications with c section or the healing after then I’d say you could probably start trying at 9/10 months or later

My first was an unscheduled csection, he was asinclytic and got stuck after pushing for 5.5 hours. I say this because the reason for why you had a csection can matter sometimes. You should look up VBAC Link Podcast they are on IG, FB, and have their own website. Super super helpful podcast as well as information for deciding on VBAC vs secondary csection. Also helps you understand what questions to ask if you decide to go the VBAC route.
I got pregnant with my second at 13 months PP and my third I was 11 months PP. I had successful VBACs with both babies. I attribute a lot of my success to that podcast I mentioned, hiring a doula, and my provider and hospital were super VBAC friendly.

We were told 18 months between deliveries, not pregnancies. So we started trying at 9/10 month mark.
