Toddler won't let us leave the room - advice?

My LG is 2.5 and has been sleeping in her own room since about a year old. We've always stayed in her room until falling asleep then leave. Since age 2, she's become more clingy especially with Daddy and takes a long time now to fall asleep. Needs physical touch to fall asleep like a hand hold. Will fight sleep a lot and it's hard to handle as we go to bed at 7 ish and it can take 2 hours to get her to sleep. Will scream and have a meltdown if we try calmly leave. We have a young baby too so it's a difficult juggle as the only respite we have is when they're both asleep. Would love any advice. Have tried dropping nap / bringing bedtime earlier etc etc and no success.

Hi there! What you’re experiencing is pretty common at this age. I would try to reduce how much you’re having to assist her to sleep and try just sitting further away. A lot of times if the child wants you to stay it’s easier to slowly move further away from her bed versus just up and leaving while she’s still awake.

Useless husband

Right, our 9.5 month old had a terrible night. Some of the wakes were 30 minutes apart. My Husband didn't help once. Didn't even wake up to our son crying.

The baby woke at 5:30 and I managed to get him back to sleep and he woke at 6:30 for the day. I'm nudging and tapping my husband to wake up and get him as I just need an extra hour of sleep. He didn't budge and I'm not leaving my son to cry so I go get him. I wake my husband and say it's time to wake up as I've been up all night so not fair for you to sleep in when you've had uninterrupted sleep. He said why didn't I wake him!? Why would I spend 2 minutes waking you when I can go and settle him in 30 seconds.

Anyway, my son's getting bored in the bedroom so my husband says to take him into the living room. I'm standing waiting for him to get up and follow as he's still laying down on his phone. He told me just take him and give me 5 minutes to wake up. Which I followed with I didn't get 5 minutes to wake up to which he replied angrily I DON'T CARE. ok rude. I'm now sat in the living room crying. It's been 30 minutes and he's still in bed.

Not really looking for advice just a tired fed up wife.

Moving baby to their own room

Hi all, did anyone move their baby into their own room early? My little boy is 5 months but is getting too long for his next2me and keeps knocking himself against the sides and waking himself up in the night. I am thinking of moving him into his cot in his room but unsure?

6 hour stretch at 6 weeks

I know I should probably just be happy about such a large stretch of sleep overnight but is this normal; my first didn’t sleep that much until he was probably closer to 2 years old!! May baby is breastfed and I cannot remember what the norm is

5 year old CONSTANTLY swearing😭

It's gotten to a point where my 5 year old is constantly swearing, muttering "f*ck" to himself over and over, or saying "what the f*ck" as he's playing with his toys. I've done some research and it says that they're testing boundaries and a big reaction will encourage them to do it more. I'm trying my best not to react, however I have taken his Switch and iPad off him as he needs to learn it's not okay to say. Just looking for some advice really on what approaches I can try or some tricks maybe? I'm grateful for anything at this rate. 🥲

Sleep schedule - how can we improve?

Hi mums, my LO is 7 weeks old. We’re finding night time wakes exhausting. This is our first so we don’t know what’s considered “good” in terms of nighttime sleep.

Between 10pm to 6am we have around three nighttime wakes where he’s up for around 30 mins to an hour. His longest sleep stretch is from when he goes down which is 3 hrs, and then he’s waking every 2.5 hours after that. Any advice on how we can lengthen the 2.5 hours? I’m hoping to get him to the 4/5 hour mark. He’s been in this pattern for the last three weeks and it’s not improving.
