Rolling

Is anybody’s else’s baby not really rolling?😭 My baby is 6m and can easily roll from tummy time onto her back but seems to absolutely refuse to roll from her back to her tummy I’ve never seen her do it😂 She’s currently getting so close to sitting up but I am kind of worried about her not rolling? She just dosent seem interested she more wants to throw herself out of our arms😂

No rolling here. He can roll belly to back but I’ve never seen him even come close to back to belly. 🤷

I used a high value toy to get her attention while on her back and would keep it just out of reach at her side and then slowly pull it up to over her head so she had to visually track it up and around and that got mine to start showing interest. Also a lot of side lay playing and tummy time. I would give it another week. I would also guide her from her side onto her belly by crossing one leg on top of the other and nudging her along until she figured it out.

All babies are so different. My middle baby refused most things and always seemed “behind.” Crawling, walking, talking you name it. He’s now 3 and runs around talking non stop. 😅 Every time my anxiety kicks in, I just tell myself I don’t know a single adult that can’t……. Fill in the blank and it your case roll over. It will happen lol. I would just encourage her by putting toys or something she likes above her so she has to work on rolling that direction and move her hips so she can get those first steps and motivation! You got this mama!

I’m going to start off by saying that every baby is different. The “milestone” guidelines are just averages. And I’ve heard that you can’t tell who did what “on time” or whatever by kindergarten. They’re all about the same.

So now my personal experiences: My December’25 baby has been pretty exclusively rolling back to front the past 2ish weeks and getting “stuck”. He seems to have forgotten that he can basically just fall over to get back to his back. Possibly just highlighting that his front to back rolls were completely on accident. He doesn’t seem close to sitting up and is quite hunched when being held vertical, which I find surprising with how long he spends in self imposed tummy time.
Then there’s my now 3.5 year old. He never rolled. He never crawled. He could sit well around 5 months, but couldn’t get himself in that position by himself. He started butt scooting right before his first birthday and walking around 15 months. Took his time, but he never stops moving now, lol

Mine won’t roll from belly to back 😭 but rolls back to belly

My first didn't roll until 7 months old, my second was a preemie and started rolling at 3 months (adjusted age). Babies don't give a flying hoot about a timeline and neither should you. Just keep doing tummy time and loving on that baby. She'll do it when she's ready 💕

Rolling over

So my daughter is 16 weeks (soon to be exactly 4 months on the 25th). Im looking at the milestones tracker one of which being rolling over.

She can roll from her back on to her side and then to her back again but not from back to front and cant roll at all when on her front.... when do we class babies as being able to roll? When can I tick this off?

Pic of her playing with monochrome square.

Life with a FOMO baby 🫠

How are you all doing?

I feel like everyone is back to working out, watching TV, having sex and going on vacations. While I'm still living the newborn phase, with frequent crying, feeding, waking in the night, living off frozen meals 🫩. If anyone says do it while the baby sleeps, doesn't have a FOMO baby 😂

What kind of support would have helped you most during your postpartum period?

I would like to become a postpartum doula and i’m interested in finding out what support people would have wanted during postpartum or even what would have wanted from their village/support system. Every mums’ needs are different and I wonder what support would have made a difference in your postpartum journey . For example, I needed support housework and it can be as simple as help with changing bedsheets or watching my toddler whilst I focus on my baby or even be able to just have a nice hot tea with no interruption. Sometimes just having that extra pair of hands can make all the difference.

The polls are limited so if there are other ways your support system or even a doula could have helped please add it in the comment section.

Thank you. ☺️

36 weeks 3 days

Is it normal to feel less movements?? I feel them, but they aren’t as often & not as strong…I was just in the hospital for dehydration & heart rate & movement were great..I’m nervous to be “that” mom who keeps coming in
