Ebf and nighttime

Someone please tell me there's light to the end of this tunnel. My LO is 7 months next week but still wants every 2 or 3 hours for a feed. I exclusively breastfeed but trying to give a full bottle of expressed milk but my LO still wakes up. Any advice or just reassurance because I wanted to put him in his own room but not if he's still waking up so frequently.

How does he fall asleep?

Avatar

Hi infant/toddler sleep coach here. There’s usually a reason for frequent wake ups, not specifically linked to them being exclusively breastfed. How much day time sleep are they getting? Can they self settle to sleep? How do you get them back to sleep if they wake?
It may be a good time to introduce some gentle sleep training, especially alongside the transition into their own room.

You can find me on Instagram/facebook @whisper.sleep.coach if you would like some more help with this! X

My little one is EBF and was two hourly overnight. We moved into own room two weeks ago. The first ten days were not great. He screamed as soon as he knew it was bedtime and overnight would take ages to settle.

I did bring back into our room after a few hours. But then I started sitting next to the cot and he started to settle.

But the last three nights he’s gone down no problem. Still has three feeds overnight but they are now shorter and goes straight down into cot afterwards without waking up

What would you consider to be normal language levels for a 1.5 year old?

My 1.5 year old has about 15 words and I’m worried this is not enough.

How do you time feeds?

For example if you say my baby feeds every 3 hours, do you time the feed from the start or the end?

Like if your baby started their feed at 12 and finished it at half past 12, would you say they're due their next feed at 3 or half past 3?

(Obviously going by baby's cues first and foremost, but I just wasn't sure how to actually time it, especially for longer feeds)

Speaking words

My little boy is 15 months old and doesn't say any words yet. Mama and dada are said sporadically so I don't think that counts lol. He babbles, waves, points etc etc. I've read to him everyday since a newborn, we sing and I describe what I'm doing throughout the day to him. Nursery haven't raised any concerns but just wondering if this is normal
