Does anyone know how palliative care works?

Do you get overnight carers?
What exactly is the story support you can get? How would I know if someone needs palliative care?

It will be on a case by case basis. Palliative is end of life care, so what one person needs will be different to what another person needs. What is it you think you need? What's the situation?

When my mum was on palliative care at home , we still did the majority of night care ourselves. I'm of the assumption that they will only offer more if there is noone to care. For the most part, us children did the vast majority of day to day care. We did have district nurses we could call for pain relief etc.

What kind of support would have helped you most during your postpartum period?

I would like to become a postpartum doula and i’m interested in finding out what support people would have wanted during postpartum or even what would have wanted from their village/support system. Every mums’ needs are different and I wonder what support would have made a difference in your postpartum journey . For example, I needed support housework and it can be as simple as help with changing bedsheets or watching my toddler whilst I focus on my baby or even be able to just have a nice hot tea with no interruption. Sometimes just having that extra pair of hands can make all the difference.

The polls are limited so if there are other ways your support system or even a doula could have helped please add it in the comment section.

Thank you. ☺️

36 weeks 3 days

Is it normal to feel less movements?? I feel them, but they aren’t as often & not as strong…I was just in the hospital for dehydration & heart rate & movement were great..I’m nervous to be “that” mom who keeps coming in

Membrane sweep - First time Mum, 39 weeks

I had a membrane sweep yesterday (39 weeks) and was 1cm with baby head down and well in the pelvis (unsure percentage) - just wondering if anyone has had one done with being 1cm and it successfully working? How long did it take after you had it to go into labour and did you do anything to progress it more!
TIA from one 39 week mamma who is so ready to be in labour! Xxx 🩷🩷
