Sleep regression or undertired?

18 week old is pretty consistent waking up at 8 am. We play until about 10, then he sleeps for 1-2 hours. Typically his naps go 10/11, 1/2, 4/5, last bottle around 7-7:30 and bedtime routine.

We start winding down for naps at the 1.5 hour mark because he gets incredibly cranky if we try to wind down at the two hour mark. Takes about a half hour for him to achieve sleep with low music, low-stim chews and pats. He refuses to nap in his crib but sleeps in his crib at night.

I know this is the sleep regression so maybe that's what's happening, but for the past week he's been waking up nearly every single hour. It doesn't take much to put him back to sleep, just butt pats or holding hands and he's out pretty instant so it doesn't feel like much of a disruption to sleep.

Does his schedule sound okay for his age? Should I try to push his naps out a little further or is 2 hours awake okay? He doesn't seem to want food and even if he does eat it, it doesn't lengthen when he asks for comfort.

I cant remember my babys nap schedule at 4mo but I do remember it was a bad regression 😆 he refused to nap during the day. Hed go like 4-6h between naps. And at night he started waking every 2-4h, which is a lot because he previously slept 7-8h no wake ups. What works for me in determining naps- start your method of putting him to sleep 10min before he normally shows the first sign of fussiness. That works for me (usually). It sounds like you knkw your sweet spot os 1.5h wake window. If you push the nap, baby will be overtired which causes a spike in cortisol. Undertired can be an issue too but pretty much all my issues come from overtired. Since the 4m sleep regression, my baby has gone through several phases of decent sleep and terrible sleep. Now at 12mo hes been sleeping much better the last few nights. I tried sleep training a few months ago but it was even more exhausting. I think he might be naturally growing into better sleep... sorry this is long and hope it helps 😅

What would you consider to be normal language levels for a 1.5 year old?

My 1.5 year old has about 15 words and I’m worried this is not enough.

How do you time feeds?

For example if you say my baby feeds every 3 hours, do you time the feed from the start or the end?

Like if your baby started their feed at 12 and finished it at half past 12, would you say they're due their next feed at 3 or half past 3?

(Obviously going by baby's cues first and foremost, but I just wasn't sure how to actually time it, especially for longer feeds)

Speaking words

My little boy is 15 months old and doesn't say any words yet. Mama and dada are said sporadically so I don't think that counts lol. He babbles, waves, points etc etc. I've read to him everyday since a newborn, we sing and I describe what I'm doing throughout the day to him. Nursery haven't raised any concerns but just wondering if this is normal
