Comforting a breastfed baby

I'm finding the only way I can soothe my 3 week old baby is by putting her on the boob! Others can rock/sway her and shes off to sleep no problem but she doesn't settle with me like this. I don't think she's clusterfeeding and she is full because she tends to bring up whatever she drinks during these comfort feeds. Any advice or is this just life with a breastfed baby? 🫠

Place a muslin in with her that smells of you / soaked in your milk especially now in the heatwave weather , that helped when I had my prem son at 24wks ( As you can imagine we spent alot of our time apart , while he was in the nicu ) so him having an item that smelt of me really helped him settle.

Have you tried a dummy? Sometimes baby wants to suck but doesn’t want the milk. Very important you don’t use it instead of feeds and always offer boob first to maintain your milk supply but if you’re confident it’s just for comfort you can swap out for the dummy x

Pretty much just the breastfed baby life. High biological alertness. They associate mums smell with milk and then expect to nurse. Will settle with other caregivers as no milk scent to cue feeding 🤣 it can be tough, but just know its not anything your doing wrong 💕

This is literally my little girl as well! Really hard in this heat, I’ve also tried the dummy with her and she does not like them compared to the boob!

Memory loss?

I just woke up and I was co-sleeping with my 5 month old baby in my bed … I have no memory of putting him there. When I got him to sleep earlier on I had placed him in his crib and I remember seeing him still in his crib when I went to sleep. I read up it could be because people get sleep deprived but I don’t feel that was the case for me. Yes I was tired when I fell asleep but definitely not sleep deprived. I just don’t remember getting up and moving him into my bed. I don’t do drugs or drink and I’m on no medication.

Has this happened to anyone before? I’m freaking out so much as I can’t remember it at all! He’s back safely in his crib now but now I’m stressed about the whole situation

Sleeping with baby on chest

Have any of you tried sleeping at night with baby on chest? My 6 week old baby has been a really good cot sleeper but tonight she just seems frightened after a few mins of being in the cot (I have no idea why!). She sleeps for ages on the chest in the day but I've been reluctant to do it at night as guidance advises otherwise...

Has anyone tried the diaper bags that turn into a makeshift bassinet?

I've been seeing these types of diaper bags that expand out to become a makeshift bassinet for the baby. Has anyone tried one? Is it worth it?

Telling people ur pregnant

I don’t really know how to feel tbh I just told my mum that I’m pregnant and she said that Iv ruined her whole week and that’s she’s not happy for me and that she feels bad for my son ,I don’t see why she feels bad for my son he has everything he wants and more he’s the happiest toddler ever and I think he will love having a sibling so he’s always got someone to play with

Is anyone’s baby sleeping through the night yet?

My son is 2 months old. He’s still waking up 2-3 times a night to eat. At what point did your baby go down to one night feed or start sleeping through the night? I have to go back to work in a month and I’m worried. I’m not sleeping well between feeds and pumping.

Jabs in this heat?

Baby is due her final set of jabs tomorrow morning, but I'm wondering whether to postpone them to next week because of the heat. I think they're less likely to have a fever with the final lot. Anyone else in this situation? It's a half hour walk to the GP as well as I don't drive 😭
