I am a WFH parent, and I usually drop off from about 9am and pick up around 3pm because I feel guilty leaving my 18 mo for longer than this.
However, I only have her there 3/5 days and I work full time, so it’s not giving me enough time to actually get my work done.
It would also be ideal to maybe get some things around the house done before collection - especially since I’m paying for the full day.
I also noticed that most of the children who arrived before us are still there when I pick up.
So I wondered how long other parents with toddlers are leaving their little ones at nursery, and if my timing for drop off and collection is unusual?
Thanks!

With my first, we did roughly 8:30-5:30 2 days a week from when he was about 11 months, I went back to work 4 days so had him on one day and he was with other family members on the other days. Then slightly before he turned 2, I went back full time so he went into nursery 3 days and he's been doing that ever since (he's now 4 and will be going to school in Sept)
I felt guilty too at first but he absolutely loves nursery and having other days off to be at home and recharge a bit helps him not get too overwhelmed and means we still get a reasonable amount of family time.

I wouldn’t say it’s unusual but it’s on the shorter side. I do around 8am drop off and pick up around 5:15 my job literally won’t allow me to do less than that as I have an on site job

My son is there 7.45-4.15 (pick up varies a bit depending on traffic and how busy the ferry is) 2 days a week.
That's a fairly short day for a nursery kid, most are there longer.

My daughter does 3 days a week of 7:30-5ish, sometimes closer to 5:15 if my work day is really busy. My daughter started off 2 days a week, but we increased to 3 days when the additional funding came in

I drop off around 8:30-8:45 and collect around 5:45pm. I don't have any other choice as I work 9-5:30. I work 3 days a week and my little is 10m old
