What is the best way of managing lo’s at night in the heat? Before bedtime we got our babies room as cool as we possibly could and ran a fan on the hallway most of the night. Doors open trying to let air flow through and he just slept in a nappy. Despite this his room stayed at 31/30 degrees till nearly midnight. He is a good sleeper usually however last night for the first time he was waking unsettled every hour😭 we just can’t get our house cool at all and it probably doesn’t help that we’ve only just moved and the only room with curtains is his room. Today is going to be even hotter which means another uncomfortable night and I’m already dreading what we could be in for with our very hot and bothered baby😫

I think there can be a fan in the room as long as its not pointing straight at them so it doesnt take their breath away and they say putting a bottle of ice in front of it helps and also maybe giving him a room temp/cool bath might cool his temp, im not sure if calpol would help as it brings down fevers but you'd have to ask a doctor about that

Put a bottle of frozen water in front of the fan! Cools the room so much xx

Our daughters room wasn’t cooling either and I was stressing as it was 29. I ended up putting a fan alongside (not pointed directly on) the cot, when I put my arm on to feel she was getting a slight breeze as the cool air was bouncing off the wall into the cot but it wasn’t much. I don’t know if it’s recommended but they only say not to put it directly on the baby and this seemed to work really well. We also kept doors open throughout and left a beaker of water on her cot for if she wakes in the night thirsty

I’d also recommend getting the stick on black out blinds as this kept her room slightly cooler in the day/early morning. They’re from Amazon
