So the school I want my LO to go to is the closest school to us but have just found out it’s slightly out of the catchment area set for that school.. the ones we are in catchment for are actually further away and not good schools. My parents live on the road of the school I want.. can I put down my parents address when registering or put it as a C/O address?? I’m not sure how it all works or if I’m allowed to do this - can anyone can tell me?
I know nothing is guaranteed anyway but I think we’ll have no chance registering with my address so want to increase our chances of getting the closer and nicer school.

You’re not allowed to do this, I’m fairly certain you can face legal action if they find out. And the place would probably be revoked.
Catchment areas change every year based on birth rates etc, so you might be within it anyway.
If you didn’t get the place you wanted you could just appeal it and be put on the waiting list

You can't put parents address - they do follow up sometimes and she won't be down as living there on any other documentation
You can still apply though - you just are last on the list but it doesn't mean no chance.
Worth visiting the school and asking m ask for a show around (with the head or SLT , if possible). The school we wanted to apply to (for nursery) told us how many applicants they had and where from . Now, they can't do exactly that for school places (as the LEA handles those) but they can look for far away from catchment you are and let you know if children from your area hace ever been successful or not
From that info, you can choose to use it as a choice on your form, or not

I wouldn’t put your parents address down. You may find that schools which are out of the catchment area have a smaller intake. We didn’t get any of our local schools with our eldest as it was a 500m catchment or smaller but the one 3 miles away had lots of spaces as wasn’t in a heavily populated area and mostly houses not flats.
