1st birthday - holiday or party?

I'm already thinking about my sons birthday in December :(

A lot of our friends have thrown a big hall party for their little ones & it was lovely to celebrate them and see them enjoy the day. However, I also think it a lot of money to spend & you don't really get to spend time with the baby and you get a cranky baby by the end of it..

I was thinking to go on holiday for his birthday somewhere tropical and nice, so that we could spend quality time with him.

But also don't want to miss out on the Polaroid first birthday .. what would you do? Have you gone on holiday for your baby's 1st birthday or thrown a party?

We threw a party for his first birthday because I wanted the cute photos and a smash cake and all that. But we don’t do parties anymore and usually do fun activities, likely vacations in the future. We’re taking him on a cruise for his 5th birthday in a couple of months.

I did a 1st party and we had a crying baby by the end of it.
I would say go with your heart; baby won't remember either so the memories will be for you.
Would you still have a family gathering to allow them to come and sing? Depending on your family size, that could be as pricey as a party x

I’d personally go on holiday. I’ve never understood the appeal to blowing so much money on a party to barely see your baby and spend so much of the lead up to their birthday party prepping x

Numbness

Hi pretty mommas, I had an emergency C section 5 weeks ago. My belly is bit numb in some areas and can’t feel anything. Did anyone else experience this? Because I am concerned now. Xx

FTM in need of advice

Hello ladies, I’m 27w5d today and yesterday I noticed less/ softer movement than usual. Just for my own record, I had been documenting his movements pretty consistently but then I stopped for a few days. I’ve started documenting his movements consistently again today and it still feels a bit less/ softer than what it’s often been in the past. I have a posterior placenta so usually I can feel him roll or kick fairly well and often. I’m not sure if he’s just in a different position than usual or if it’s just first time jitters getting to me or if there’s actually reason to be concerned.

Please share any thoughts or suggestions. ❤️

Waters?

I’d just been for a wee and I felt a click type of feeling my knickers were wet. Put a pad in and they are a little wet I keep feeling like I’m trickling but questioning myself 100%

I’m really worried about my waters breaking during the night in bed and ruining my mattress (sounds so stupid I know😂) but how can i help this not happening as I feel sleeping on a towel might not be enough?? And ideas of what others used and it worked?

First birthdays

What did you all do for your babies first birthday? My boy will be 1 in November and I’ll be back at work full time and it’ll be chaos. (Operations management wooo hahah) it’s gonna be chaos trying to set new routines and all that so I kinda wanna get some ideas in my head so I don’t panic around that time!
