I’m really worried about my waters breaking during the night in bed and ruining my mattress (sounds so stupid I know😂) but how can i help this not happening as I feel sleeping on a towel might not be enough?? And ideas of what others used and it worked?

Get yourself a waterproof mattress protector. Comes in handy once baby is here too if feeding in bed/cosleeping/sick x

My water broke when I was laying in bed at 1:45am, I was awake on my phone. I heard it but nothing leaked until I stood up and it took a few seconds before it leaked on the floor lol, so don’t worry too much

Waterproof mattress protectors work really well! It will definitely be able to handle your waters breaking

It would be really rare for that to happen. Go to a mattress store and ask them for a plastic mattress cover put it under a mattress pad so it’s not plastic and crinkly. The store should give you one for free like the ones they store them in not the expensive o ones they want to sell you

this happened to me in 2019 i woke up to my waters broke which must have happened in the night. luckily i lived at home with my mum at the time. she made sure we had mattress protectors anyway as we had drinks and snacks in our bedrooms anyway my waters had broke and all i had to do was change the bedding the mattress was complete fine and protected! and i just washed the sheets and everything it was all good! don’t worry!

I’ve also heard some people using a shower curtain

We brought some puppy pads that we used in addition to our mattress protector. I could then use them in different places too like the car. They are very similar to what my local hospital use.

Puppy pads are cheap and work well xx

Waterproof mattress protector

Apparently most waters are just a leak so a towel or puppy pad would control that. Of course it is still entirely possible that you might have the big gushy waters, but you might also have the little leaky ones 🤣
Both of mine were like a little trickly wee.
